Nice patina on the finished outside, with a few scuffs and scratches from use. Wooden pegs surround small iron fasteners, keeping the bent wood handle on and allowing it to swing. Small dent in dead center of the underside indicates that a compass-like device was used to trace out and cut a perfect circle for the bottom. No lid. BEAUTIFUL Vintage Antique Wall Hanging Wooden Barometer and Thermometer German
This auction is for a very pretty and unique Antique Wall Hanging 2 in 1 Thermometer and Barometer. It has a large decorative wood border built in and is perfect for decoration. The piece was too big to be tested via the plastic bag test so I don't know if the barometer section is functional. It measures 20 inches tall by 8 inches long and seems to be in good condition. There are a few chips in the wood on the"pillars" flanking the barometer and the knob on top looks like it may have fallen off at some point but was repaired. Overall. Nothing too serious aesthetics wise. As I said before, I don't know if the barometer is working but the thermometer seems to be fine. There are no cracks, chips, etc in the glass. There's a small front porch is supported by 1 column and thankfully that stood up to the storm. The roof is painted red and the house is white with blue trim. We should have fired the painter when he he painted the red roof because he slopped some paint on the white parts of the house. We're not sure of the age of this item but we are sure that it's adorable. I believe this is Thomas Maddock and Sons. Which dates to the late 1800's. If anyone clues me in, I will pass it along. The smallest is marked 3/0 and measures about 3 1/2" across. The next size has an incised 1 and it measures 4 7/8" across. The large has an incised 5 and measures 8" across. The spout on the large has nicks. There's some edge roughness/wear. There are a total of seven avaliable if not sold. Price on auction is for one. They were all in the same room and painted white in good condition. I have bent the nails back as you may want to cut them off. Very decorative with the three wood dots-flower or sunburst in the middle. Beautiful turned wooden tureen or sugar/spice bowl. This tureen/bowl is either beechnut or chestnut with a dark walnut stain. This tureen is 5 inches in overall height with lid. 3 inches in height without the lid and 2 ¼ inches deep. The base is 3 ¾ inches in diameter. The opening is 3 inches in diameter. The lid is 3 ¼ inches in diameter and 2 ½ inches in height. There are a couple of cracks on this item but none that are completely through and through. Ca. 1860-1886. Antique Wooden Carriage Alarm Clock c. 1880s Marked on face of clock T over C or maybe it's C over T? Maker is unknown to me. Approximately age c.1880s– 1890s is our best guess. Not working. Perfect for you clock repair specialists out there. Clock shows some wear and a nice patina from age. Glass is good with very light scuffs. Nice wood clock casing. Wonderful old piece and could possibly be quite rare. Measures approx. 7 1/2 inches tall x 6 1/2 inches long x 3 1/2 inches deap. Clock case is made of solid wood. Clock works and movement itself is of metal etc. This is either a factory made clock or possibly even a personaly hand crafted piece? we are not exactly sure as it seems very primitive to us however it's pretty well crafted and definitely OLD! Antique Diminutive Punched Tin Painted Wooden Pie Safe
This is a wonderful antique pie safe in a size that would have countless uses. We found the safe in Lancaster County Pennsylvania and appears to be from the very late 1800's to early 1900's. The tin pattern is circles around a center diamond. There are several layers of paint and the current color is a grey green with white tins. I would guess this color has been on the safe for more than half it's life. The safe is 57" tall x 30 3/4" wide and 15" deep. It is in very sturdy condition with fixed shelves each about 10 1/4" high. The condition is good with an old break on the top that has been painted over, see photos. I was tempted to keep this one to use in the guest bath. Perfect! A real easy item to safely ship. I know nothing about lures. These could be Heddon. Pflueger, Shakespeare, or southbend. I have no clue, One in particular is called the devils toothpick, it is the picture by itself, the paint is 99% good on this one, the hooks are a lil rusty. These were bought at a yard sale, they are in good used condition, Most i am sure to be of wood.
