And there is about a million of inches of snow on the ground, in order to take a few pictures of this huge carrier, I took it outside because nothing beats sunlight for showing colors accurately. In other words, I did it for you. This carrier is right out of someone’s smokehouse. And it comes complete with cobwebs, estate dirt, and everything else associated with old, undisturbed, primitive things. It is big! The box part is 25 ½” by 10 ¾” at the top edge. It is 4 ½” deep. The total height to the top of the handle is 6 ½” So we’re talking about a large tote. Weight = 5 ½ lbs. I managed to get two or three pictures before almost freezing to death. And I know who’s to blame. It’s the person who invented the chill factor. I knew it was 3° outside, but my smart phone said it“felt like” 10° below zero. We didn’t have all this“wind-chill factor” horse pucky back when I was a pup. We looked at the thermometer, and if it said it was 3°, we knew to bundle up. I think knowing that“but it feels like” nonsense is too much information. I’m sure you have noticed the old apple-green paint. There are a few more traces of it elsewhere. Rare Antique Handmade Birchbark Wooden Fishing Creel
For sale we have an exceptional example of a Very Early Handmade Birch Fishing Creel. This piece is made entirely out of birch bark branches cut to size and is primitively nailed together. You can still see some of the actual white birch bark on the lid and several of the side pieces. Notice the round twig that is the outer edge of the hole on the top.awesome! The inside has a piece of what appears to be bamboo around the inner lid edge. It has obviously had several repairs but this is a very old piece of fishing gear possibly from the mid to late 19th century. I have never seen anything like it! It measures 10.5" tall. 15" long and 11" wide. This is an extremely rare piece.

This creel is over 200 years old. Made in the late 1700s to early 1800s, making this a very rare and important creel for the serious creel collector. The creel body is wood. With leather straps, and brass hardware. Amazingly. The original leather straps are still intact, though there has been mild repair work. There has also been a repair to the back corner of the lid. The purpose of these holes I have no idea! The spool detaches easily when the knurled nut is rotated slightly- a form of Slater's latch- I hope I have that right. Straight from an estate sale comes this very nice antique ice fishing decoy. The decoy is in great condition for it's age and has a wonderful vintage patina. It is made of wood. It measures approximately 8 inches long. As you can see in the photos. The tail of the fish is curved just a little, which I think makes the decoy look very realistic. The fins are metal. It has gills and eye holes carved into the sides and a grooved mouth. I do not see any markings as to the maker of the decoy. The plastic on the tip is cracked. The violin is used with scratches. Scuffs and nicks. The machine head tuners appear to be in good shape. Fingerboard has some wear. The tailpiece, chin rest and bridge each appear to be in good shape with some wear. There are no discernible cracks, aside from some old separation at some edges that have been long since glued. Some warping and issue at the bottom side where the tailpin goes in and will need a new pin. Sound pegs don't completely match and look to have been adjusted. Needs strings. Old Antique Wood Maybe Martin Parlor Acoustic Wooden Six String Guitar Case
We have this old wood parlor guitar case to offer that we just aquired local. It looks like it is a Martin case but am not a expert in this field. The case is being offered for repair. the one side panel is loose and the top piece of wood is loose. The case is complete but needs put back together. It is missing the handle. This is a lovely old wooden box as seen. I`m not sure what it would have been used for but it does look nice. It measures 4 1/2" across and about 3" tall when assembled. It is comprised of 3 pieces, the top cover which caps a small chamber in the black section, has a hole in it that would allow thread or something similar through, the black section lifts off to reveal a completely hollowed lower section, the walls of which are very thin, this was made by a skilled craftsman i would say, no room for error in hollowing out the base. Free Shipping! This is a lot of 3 antique wasboards. They are all small to medium sized and are made of different materials. The first one is made of galvanized metal and has wooden legs. It measures almost 16"L X 7" wide and about 1" thick. The soap pan is stamped with"Solid Metal" Haysle" stamped in script. The was surface is ribbed and curved. The second one is 18" L X 8.5" W X 1.25" thick. It is all wood construction. The wood appears to be pine. The stamp with the brand and model is virtually rubbed off. All I can make out is a"No. 115" The wash surface is made up of two different pieces of ribbed wood. The center of the ribs has been rubbed down from use. The third one measures 17" L X 7" W X 1" D. It has a wood frame and a galvanized metal wash surface. Ther are ... moreno distinguishing marks on it. There is plenty of soap residue built up on the wash surface attesting to it's years of hard use. The framework is slightly loose but very much intact. SUPER NICE PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE TURNED WOODEN TRENCHER PLATE
Very nice turned antique wooden plate. It is quite large measuring 14 1/2" in diameter. In very good condition except for on the back two holes have been filled with square wooden plugs. This looks to have done many. Many years ago. The holes do not go through and do not show from the front. There is also a very tiny hole on the back side about the size of a pin head. Don't know what the wood is but it is very light weight. Would look great with other primitives. This auction is for the plate only. Will be listing the other items separately. Ind. The original founders were George Schultress, Carl Heinzerling and Henry S. Dills. Dills was the design genius behind the lures. Heinzerling and Schultress provided the capital and managed the business. Though the firm started selling lures at that time, it was not until around 1918 that they attracted enough business to allow them to start shipping baits in large numbers. In 1917, the company developed what would become a major contribution to the entire fishing lure industry. ... morethe natural scale finish process. This finish was used on some C.C.B.Co. products as early as 1917 and a patent was issued for it in 1919. Half of the rights to this process were assigned to the James Heddon Company. The other major development that happened about this time was the introduction in 1919 of the No. 700 Famous Pikie Minnow. This bait gained immediate acceptance and went on to become one of the most successful fishing lures of all time. A jointed version of the Pikie. The No. 2600 was introduced in 1926 and the No. 3400 Series"Snook" Pikie showed up in catalogs around 1930. It was made exactly like the original 700 Series Pikie minnow except much larger and much stronger. It is 4-7/8" in length and weighs 1-1/8 ozs. its jointed version measures 5-1/4" and weighs in at 1.6 ozs. The belly hooks are swivled and anchored entirely through the body. This is a very rugged and heavy duty bait. Several other variations followed and C.C.B.Co. Pikies continued through the years until 1978 when the company was sold to the Lazy Ike Corp. of Des Moines, Iowa. Without a doubt, today these are the most collected fishing lures ever made. Antique Wagon Wheel Wooden with steel surroundings 48 inches Great Cond
Very neat antique wagon wheel in great condition.This wheel has some very minor issue which I pictured the wheel is absolutely solid thru and thru just some minor wood damage. I have another one that is very similar. Unfortunately unless a buyer is very interested and has the funds I am listing this as a pickup only sale. I can help load into a truck. EARLY ANTIQUE OLD HAND MIRROR BEVELED WOODEN HANDLE sterling plate on back
As you can see there are a few flaws. There is some rusting on the metal frame around the mirror. A small nick in the mirror, a small crack in the wood, and denting in the sterling. The metal on back is stamped sterling. Wood has not been restored nor has any part of this mirror it. The wood has a beautiful patina from age and a light restoration/rehab would bring new life into this piece. It is a find from a collectors storage. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
