The slipcase is in good condition. Highly interesting test checking for color blindness. 46 color plates mounted on a black accordion board that folds neatly into the black covers with gold lettering. a pamphlet explaining the process is tucked into a sleeve on the verso of cover. 1940, the color inks were produced by IPI, the picture of various color dots with a letter or figure hidden into it was engraved and printed by the Beck Engraving Co. of Philadelphia.

Estate ~ Vintage American Optical Spencer Microscope in Wood Box + EXTRA ITEMS
Spencer microscope in the original old wooden case complete with the key that locks the door! The case has the initials AO on the door that I know is American Optical. The microscope itself has the name Spencer on it with the#250048. To give you an idea of size. The case measures 15" tall x 9" wide x 8-3/4" deep. The microscope base measures approx. 8-1/2" x 5" in size with a height of approx. 13" in the cranked down position. There are a couple extras that come with this piece, the 3 boxes of slides, some sort of light called Scope light Substage lamp that looks like it was never used. There are also 2 small amber plastic bottles inside the door of the case that are not pictured. It is best that you view the photos to see exactly what I have here ~ sorry I'm not a microscope expert! Condition: The microscope ... morelooks pretty good I do not see any broken glass in the lenses or cracks to the microscope. The body appears to be brass with a blackened finish that has tiny edge wear exposing the brass. Not obvious until you look very close but I want to point it out. The scope light is in original box with very little to no use. The wooden case is covered in a sharkskin like material that is worn, the handle at the top is there but tattered. Antique Lot 4 Microtomes ++ American Optical & A.S. Aloe 185mm 120mm T6513 U2827
RECENT ACQUISITIONS This lot is for the exact items photographed. It is for an all Antique Lot 4 Microtomes a handle. Stand and three original boxes. 3 of the 4 Microtomes are from A/O, which is American Optical, the 4th Microtome is from A.S. Aloe and also has the marking that it is for bone. There are 2 that are 185mm long and 2 that are 120mm long. The two A/O that have stamped id numbers on them are the T6513 and the U2827. The third one is not stamped on the handle. And is a 120mm that was less used and maybe newer. It is marked A/O on the side of the blade. The 4th Microtome by A.S. Aloe of Germany, is in its original box and is marked on the outside of this peach colored box as: Cat. V-59910-C Microtome Knife, Complete(which it is not) 185m/m Paraffin. The one handle does fit all of the A/O Microtomes. The only one it does not fit ... moresnuggly. Is the A.S. Aloe. The handle will screw in easily on one of the sides(both have holes) but not tighten securely. While we mention holes, all have holes on both sides of the blades, except the 120mm less used A/O Microtome. The stand will hold the 120mm Microtomes. All Microtomes have varying degrees of rust. but are still sharp. One box has tape on top with name. Two of three boxes have locks/clasps. 1 is missing clasp. The 185mm T6513 Microtome has a lot of rust on the handle, but not much on the blade area. The 185mm from A.S. Aloe has very little rust on the blade portion, while still having some on the handle too. The 120mm A/O has very little at the blade and most is on surface above the cutting area, while lat, the unnumbered 120mm A/O has one patch of rust on the surface, but not at the blade. Bottom line. you should be able to use any one of these four blades. Because the rust that does show, is mostly cosmetic and not at the blade sections. For 50 to 90 year old boxes and blades, this is pretty good condition. HARD TO FIND ONE OF THESE. MUCH LESS A WHOLE COLLECTION. OUR ONLY ONES. SO BID NOW! The instrument being offered for sale is in excellent working condition. It comes with a pair of AO catalog#176 10X W.F. Wide Field) eyepieces. In excellent condition. The nosepiece turret has space for four objective lenses; 3 objectives are installed on this instrument, as follows: 1. 10X N.A. 0.25, catalog#1076, 2) 45X N.A. 0.66, catalog#1116, and 3) 100X oil immersion, N.A. 1.25, catalog#1079. All objective lenses are infinity corrected, as required for the AO Series 10. There is an AO dust cap installed in the nosepiece where a 4th objective lens may be inserted, if/when desired. The condenser is in excellent condition with iris diaphragm and has a N.A. of 1.25. The illuminator ... moreon this microscope is the famous#1036A. It contains a high intensity bulb and is in excellent working condition. This microscope illumination system requires a separate transformer to supply power to the bulb(transformer is not included) these transformers are common and very easily obtained on Ebay. The serial number of this instrument is 655156. The second photo in the series is a composite of photomicrographs obtained using this microscope with a digital camera-a photo was taken using each of the three objective lenses. Images are clear and sharp. I have personally tested this instrument.

Vintage American Merry Optical Company Machinist Glasses Goggles
This is really exceptional rare item. Looks like machinist glasses manufactured prior to 1930. That's when American Optical took over Merry Optical. Comes with green case, I don't know if they were military issue or not. On the lenses it appears to have a mark an S within an O(see Pics) on the front brow piece is says American Protexwe/No. 1 Merry Optical Co. On the top side of the nose bridge is a letter F. That i was unable to photograph. The item appears as possibly silver plating, I know they were made with silver and other metal alloys but not certain of this with this item. There is no rust, simply tarnish from the age. Could be older than 1930s and most likely is.
