AMERICAN OPTICAL SLIT LAMP This is a great American Optical slit lamp. I was told it dates to about the 90's. Everything seems to be functioning well. All the light colors change. The led light works. Everything moves smoothly. It has some minor cosmetic wear but nothing terrible. Pretty typical type of wear around edges etc. Not sure how good the lenses are or anything along those lines. Unsure of the model as the badge is missing. Vintage American Optical Eyeglasses Metal Goggles Case Eye Glasses Advertising
For your consideration is a pair of vintage eye glasses with case. The eye glasses are round with wire rims. Marked on the bridge AO 2 FUL-VUE. They have some light marks and/or scratches when held to the light. Rims are in good solid shape. Do have some surface rust and tarnish. Glasses fit perfectly into dark brown metal case marked AO Wear These Goggles Protect Your Eyes. The interior of the case is a soft brown cotton cloth. Also included is an official AMERICAN OPTICAL COMPANY Prescription and Inspection Paper 1833-1942 with front emblem marked True Vision American Optical Company. Description THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL OPTOMETRIST EYE TESTING KIT! THE OUTSIDE DOES SUFFER WEAR BUT THE INSIDE IS BEAUTIFUL! THE LENS INSERT INTO THEIR OWN LABELED SPACE AND THESE ARE NICE TONGUE AND GROOVE BOXES THAT LIFT OUT AND UNDERNEATH IS MORE STORAGE SPACE. ALL OF THESE AREAS ARE VELVET LINED.SOME WEAR ON THE VELVET BUT NONE OF IT HAS WORN THRU. THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO THIS SOMEWHAT SMALL CASE. THAT IS WHY I THINK THE DOCTOR OR WHOEVER WOULD HAVE USED IT TO GO FROM PLACE TO PLACE. EACH SIDE HAS A NICE CARDBOARD THAT COVERS EACH SIDE. THE HANDLE IS GONE TO THE CASE. THERE ARE TWO SNAP CLOSURES AND ONE MAIN CLOSURE AND THEY ALL WORK GOOD. THE BOX IS MAINLY WOOD AND LEATHER COVER ALTHOUGH THE LEATHER IS QUITE WORN. AGAIN, THE WOOD IS TONGUE AND GROOVE. THERE ARE 131 LENS IN THE SET AND THEN THERE ARE 5 OR SO EXTRA DIFFERENT LENS. THE RED LENS. ... moreTHE BLACK LENS ETC. THE LENS DO HAVE SOME NICE METAL AROUND THEM. HALF ARE SILVER TONE AND THE OTHER ARE BRASS OR JUST A GOLD TONE METAL. THE LENS ARE IN QUITE NICE CONDITION. MAYBE A LITTLE SCRATCH HERE AND THERE BUT NICE AND CLEAN. THE SET IS COMPLETE EXCEPT ONE LENS IS MISSING. THERE ARE SEVERAL LOOSE LENS' AS WELL. AND THEN THERE ARE THE GLASSES THAT ARE LABELED AMERICAN OPTICAL AND DATE JUNE 24, 90.
