Item Description: This vintage Navajo wedding basket shows the traditional design which carries significance for the Navajo people. This basket measures 11 1/4 inches across and has about a 2 inch rise from the center. This basket is in great vintage condition. Navajo ceremonial baskets are used in weddings. Girls’ puberty rites, and traditional healing ceremonies. Made of sumac and coiled from left to right, they are usually from 12 to 14 inches in diameter. The rim of the ceremonial basket is finished with a diagonally plaited herringbone pattern. The overall design is always broken at one point, allowing a pathway from center to periphery, and the last coil of the basket ends at the point where the break occurs. In ceremonial practice, the gap in the basket’s design is always oriented to the east. The ceremonial significance of the basket ... moredesign as told to Steven P. This huge 1800's antique jail cell/large gate/large door(not really sure) key measure s: 5-3/4" Long 1-3/4" Across the top 1-1/2" Acr oss the bottom Overal l it fits nicely on a do llar bill. I have 10 of the m. And eac h one varies very slightly of course. Because rarely are two keys alike. These keys come in multiple LOTS so each LOT. Although very similar, will not be exactly the same as the next. Differences include different shades of grey. Some shiny-plating still present, light to heavy rust, while some are barely rusty at all. Some have dark patches on them, and a variety of less-than-perfect qualities. All of this to say that if you are envisioning some sort of uniformity with these keys, the greatest similarity between them, is that most of them have heavy rust, while others, that have been thoroughly cleaned, ... morehave little or no rust at all(please specify when ordering) Please feel free to make offers on one or more LOTS.As I am willing to offer discounts when more than one LOT is ordered.
