LOT OF 3 ANTIQUE ORIENTAL FANS FROM AN ESTATE LIQUIDATION I am not an expert on oriental fans. Unfortunately. I can not tell you if the wood on these is bamboo, or what kind it is. I can't tell you if the fan is silk or rice paper. What I can tell you is they came from an estate that had other items dating back to the late 1800's and early 1900's. I can tell you that the smallest of the fans is 5" tall and the picture on it is colonial dancers and a cherub playing the violin. The fan on the far right is a dark wood with nicks in the wood, but the fan itself is in good condition and when closed, it has a clasp that works. This fan is 9 1/4" closed and 13 1/2" opened. The fan in the middle has definitely seen better days. It has scotch tape on it in several places and the tape is discolored. Some of the wood is cracked, ... morebut it does look like it is all there and the design on it is beautiful. You can see that this was definitely a favorite fan of someone who wanted to keep fixing it instead of disgarding it. This fan is 10 1/2" long. Good luck in your biddings!
