For example in an amplifier circuit you can look at the input and work backwards from the output to see where the fault lies. Also two signals are essential for comparing stereo signals or for comparing digital with the clock/ trigger signal. The Hitachi V212 Operation Manual contains complete operator instructions including how to set it up for the first time(page 15 of the manual) and how to obtain displays for AC and DC voltage.
