Roughly speaking, 165-2393-00 will limit a 400MHz scope's bandwidth to about 360MHz, whereas a 155-0237-00 will let it work to around 450MHz. This means there is no reason to have the better one in a 2445, 2445A, or 2445B, but there is good reason to use them in 2465B and 2467B. 2465 and 2465A leave you a choice of little consequence. You will not notice any bandwidth difference between these 2 part#s on 150 or 200 Mhz 2400s. The typical symptom of a failed(or failing) U600 is inability to center anything on screen, even with beamfinder invoked. Tektronix oscilloscope 2445 with GPIB
This Tektronix model 2445 with GPIB was in a room where there was a fire and has some discoloration and has a small knob on the readout intensity that is a bid deformed and one front foot that has a little damage but as far as being functional the scope seems to work perfectly except for the on/off button which sticks a little but still turns the unit on and off. It could use a good cleaning but as you can see by the pictures it is a good working unit and comes with a pouch and 5 probes, 1 direct probe and 2 10x probes and 2 switchable 1x/10x combo probes. One of the 10x probes has a 9 foot reach and one has a 6.5 foot reach. it also comes with a power cord. I have taken the best pictures I can to show the discoloration. Included with this o-scope is a TPI SP100B Passive Probe 100 MHz x10 Switchable 600V DC. CAT 2 they are going for $40 if buying separately. Also there is a bag of goodies- fuses. But what is impossible to find any more is the Impeller fastener which becomes brittle with time and disintegrates to pieces if you attempt to remove the impeller in order to replace the fan, the motor in these oscilloscopes is driven by a small control PCB mounted directly on the rear of the motor The power supply and rear panel construction does not allow the direct replacement of the fan motor with a square fan as used in most modern test equipment. Also the rear plastic panel has a different internal design aimed to direct air flow so even if an attempt is made to replace the fan with any of the shelf part, air-flow will not be sufficient to keep the instrument cool, besides there will be no fan speed regulation at all, the fan will run at full speed all the time regardless of internal temperature, resulting in excessive noise.
