Since I don't d o optic fibre. It's sat in a closet ever since. Prior to listing I put in 2 AA batteries(not included) and tested it: It powers on and off as it should. All of the buttons work and it responds to changes in light level. I don't know when it was last calibrated, so I can't guarantee the calibration. Here's all the negative stuff I can find to say: It has the expected scuffs& scrapes from use in the field and there's a name scratched in base. A previous owner has put clear tape over the display. HP (Agilent) 81521B Optical Head 900-1700nm Power Meter Sensor
Here is a fine HP 81521B sensor in working condition. Cosmetically it's not in perfect condition. For example the paint has some scratches as you can see in the photo's. The sensor window however is scratch free. I tested the head with a HP 8152A and a HP 8168D at 1550nm. 10dBm. The result was-9.79dBm. I checked the reading with another 81521B sensor which read-9.85dBm. Various other power meters I have read between-9.61dBm and-10.06dBm. The head was supposedly recently calibrated but all stickers have been removed so I can't guarantee the calibration. I can guarantee that the head works since it responds to zeroing. Newport 835 Optical Power Meter For sale is this used Newport 835 Optical Power Meter. It is overall in pretty good cosmetic condition with the normal couple of slight scuffs on the exterior. The only real physical issue I saw was that the power cord was very worn where it comes out of the meter and should be replaced soon. See photos below for more details on physical condition. The serial# is 701. I plugged the power meter in and turned it on and it immediately powered on and both LCD displays started displaying. Unfortunately it looks like both displays have issues displaying. It looked like the top display didn't shown the top half and the bottom display didn't show the bottom half. Though that may have been normal for the bottom display. I was able to press most of the buttons and see an appropriate change in the reading on the ... moredisplay, but it was hard to read it due to the issue with the top display.
