Spex Monochromator Controller/Interface For sale- a Spex Monochromator Controller/Interface. The surplus tag on it said it was a controller but as it has no controls on it other than an on/off switch I lean towards interface unit myself. I believe this would go between the controlling computer and the monochromator. But that’s just a guess. Looks like it would take a DB25 input from the computer and give you a DB9 output to the spectrograph. It looks like the SPEX catalog number is 333. But I think that might actually be a serial number. I saw another SPEX piece just like it at the same auction and it had a different number. As SPEX monochromators were made for them by Jobin Yvon chances are this piece is too. Jobin Yvon went on to become ISA and later Horiba I think. But you already knew that. Here are the optics removed from a monochromator. I do not know the make and model. It was a large and heavy motorized scanning unit. These parts include two each: round collimation mirrors 80mm diameter 17mm thick. Flat mirrors 15x40mm, defraction grating 40x40mm in a prism shaped mirrored glass. The grating has 55 etched on the back. All in very good condition as we just removed these from the sealed case. The monochromator shown is not included.
