Up for auction is Antique ROYAL#10 TYPEWRITER! Cleaned. Oiled, No Keys Sticking. This shiny black typewriter is in great working order with beveled glass panel sides. The carriage moves nice and smooth and bells sound great! There is some paint loss around the lower front panel under the spacer bar. All the keys are original and the decals are all intact. Even the foot pads are in great shape. It measures about 15 1/2" long(carriage measurement) x about 10" tall x 15" wide. The serial number is SX-1515923. There are no cracks. This A ucti on is for an Antique Vintage Underwoo d Cast Iron Typewriter Model 2U. This is a strange color. The bnody of it is a light olive green. The keys are a dark green& look like they may be Bakelite. The only place I have seen this color before this was at the police station where my father worked as a patrol officer. So this may be a government or industrial model but I can't be sure on that. I purchased this at an estate auction. Nice Vintage Condition! Mid Century 50's 60s typewriter with the original owners manual! I am not an expert on typewriters. But everything seems to work well on the unit itself. Locks into the case or is easily removed. This is a very high end typewriter that was made in Germany. The hard case itself is broken. The lid removes completely from the back hinge and there is no lock. The ink may be drying on the ink tape reel as the type seems faded. Two brothers. Peter and Heinrich Weil, founded Torpedo in 1896. In 1905 they bought the firm“Johan Völker& Co” and started producing their typewriter model"Hassia" as Torpedo 1. Antique early 1900's L.C. Smith 8 12" typewriter
This typewriter came from a local Presbyterian Church that was active from the first decade of the 1900's until it closed in 2008. It spent its entire life there until I obtained it in 2012. It is still in very good and working condition although it will need new ribbon and a little cleaning. There are a couple of small spots of paint loss that have been touched up. Antique Emerson Typewriter No. 3 Vintage Writing Machine
Vintage Emerson Typewriter No. 3 In 1907. The first Emerson machines appeared on the market. The design was by Richard Uhlig, who was highly knowledgeable in the field of typewriiters. The machines were originally manufactured in the northeast, but by 1908 the company had already begun a move to the midwest. The offices of the company were moved to Chicago, Illinois; the factory was moved to Woodstock, Illinois. The Emerson was one of those machines that attempted to get a place in the market at a price below that of most standard machines; it achieved this through simpler and easier construction. This led to faults. With many machines being recalled or sent back. The company was soon in trouble, and defaulted on loans made to it by Sears, Roebuck and Company. In 1909, according to Sears records, management changed hands as Alvah C. Roebuck ... moretook over control; he would learn much during the next few years. The machine itself is hard to quantify; the type-bars are indeed classified as such. But few other typewriter designs are similar. What you cannot see in photos is the fact that these machines are actually NOT carriage shifted. You however can't really use the term"segment shift" since they do not have a slotted segment, but perhaps that's as close as we can get. The CAP key causes all the type bars to move up; the FIG key causes them all to move down. Thus, each type slug has three characters on its face. The keys across the front are tabulator keys, except for the center key which is"ribbon shift. The machine does not have a conventional shift lock, either, but rather a lever type which can be seen sticking up by the shift keys on the left. This is a very unique item. We were lucky to come across a case of these"katsuji" Japanese typewriter"keys" There are over 2300 of these. They are vintage but have never been used. These would have been the extras in case the ones in the machine broke. Please look at the last picture to see what an old Japanese typewriter looked like. There were at least 2000 keys so needless to say. This was only used in businesses. They are from the"昭和" showa period" The"showa" period is from 1926-1989 but these are at least 30 years old as Japanese stopped using them once the word processor was invented. This would be perfect for using as a stamp with ink or for stamping clay etc. This stamp is the Kanji(Chinese character) for"tsue" ="cane. Stick" It measures 2.3 cm long(long enough to be able to get a nice grip) and ... more5mm wide. The Chinese character itself is about 5mm wide.so please note how tiny it is. It is made of metal. VINTAGE DROP LEAF TYPEWRITER TABLE WOOD & METAL HASCO ON WHEELS WITH LOCK
Here is a vintage industrial typewriter table made by Hasco of St. Louis Mo.Mid 60's. The table is in great condition as is the walnut veneer. The table stands 26 1/2" tall and 40" wide with both flaps open and is 21" wide with the flaps down the table is 18" and has the original wheels that lock or unluck when pressing on the lever with your foot. Can roll freely and smooth or stands solid still on the feet. The metal is in great shape no rust original paint.

Vintage Olympia SM9 White Portable Manual Typewriter with Wide Carriage& Case Bought new in the mid 1960’s. Well used but with care. The advent of the early mainframes and eventually the Mac and Windows PC eventually replaced this. As my writing machine of choice. It is still in very good mechanical condition, is easy to use, though a lot heavier than my current laptop. Some highlights: This machine has a two color black and red ribbon installed. A new ribbon should be considered. The carrying case has a hard plastic lining for a secure and safe fit while transporting. A pop up paper support can be released by pressing the button on the right end of the carriage assembly. The platen roller is in good condition. It is the extra-wide size(12" The serial number is located on the underside of the machine(5206160) The original Instruction ... moreManual is not available. However included with the machine is a copy of the manual obtained from the web site. The original manual has a number of colored plates with numbers showing the various controls. Unfortunately these pictures appear in black and white. On the attached copy and therefore difficult to read. For Internet Explorer users, these pictures can be expanded which makes them slightly more readable. Overall a great simple to use. Very Rare 1920's Faux Wood Grain Royal Model P Typewriter with Original Case
Beautiful 1920's Royal Model P portable typewriter with original case. Very rare faux wood grain detailing! It is a bit dusty from storage. But is in full working order. Needs a ribbon, easily replaceable. The only damage to the item is the right hand platen knob is cracked in half, but the machine is still fully functional. Also the leather carry strap that is often missing on these items is still in place, with one side torn, rendering it a decoration more than a useful handle, but at almost 100 years old, it being there at all is a super rare plus!

You are bidding on a very old Remington Portable Typewriter. This item was manufactured in the USA. On the backside of the machine you will see"NE 40111. I think this might represent the year when the typewriter was manufactured. It was made for sell in Australia and it was purchased"used" by a U.S. vet in the late sixties on his return to the U.S.A. from Vietnam. Please notice that one of the keys shows the Australian or English pound sign instead of the American dollar sign. I am not knowledgable about typewriters so I am trying to describe this item candidly and subjectively. It appears to need a good cleaning and it might need some minor adjustments. There is a knob and the outer right side of the machine that you can lever forward to raise the keys to the typing mode. LARGE VARI-TYPER COMMERCIAL TYPEWRITER ORIGINALLY USED AT THE LUFKIN RULE CO. SAGINAW. MI Offered for sale is a scarce Vari-Typer commercial typewriter that was used at the old Lufkin Rule Co. factory in Saginaw. Mi. obtained by a former employee of Lufkin this is a large heavy duty typewriter that weighs 35 lbs.The typewriter has a carriage length of 26" and from the end of one carriage knob to the end of the other carriage knob is 31 1/2" The steel rod through the center of the typewriter measures 39" from end to end. The typewriter is electric and when the cord is pluged in the light does come on. It will be sold"as is" as I don't really know whether it is fuctional or not. The typewriter comes with a service manual and two sections of type. I believe that this Vari-Typer typewriter is the largest the company ... moremade and does not show up very often. It was necessary to package the typewriter in a rather large box( 44" x 20" x 20" for shipping due to the overall length. It was professionally packaged in advance at the UPS packing store which required double boxing. The cost for packaging exceeded $ 50.00 of which I will pay $40.00. The condition isn't mint- I'd say it is in EXCELLENT condition and not mint because of two very small knicks in the paint(see second photo) I had it completely overhauled about six months ago by a professional who specializes in typewriters and has been doing this for about 50 years. He is pretty much the only person in all of NYC who still offers typewriter refurbishing and repair and he is also the gentleman who periodically tunes up the infamous Olympia typwriter that Woody Allen still uses to type all his screenplays on all these years. So he really knows his stuff! The overhaul, cleaning and tuning service alone cost $300. He also conditioned the paint finish with a special oil.
