The tubes lit up and when tapping the microphone pad it did seem to translate into a clicking sound and bump on the motor carriage. I assume this is what would have made a mark on the paper. When I first started this up the motor zipped along pretty fast. Then it turned slow. Now it is back to zipping right along. I will dig up a watch and see if I can check it out a little more. I am not familiar with these machines. It's obviously"old school" and likely more a collectable than a current service tool but you know more about these than I do. Vintage"Airguide" Brass Ship's Clock and matching Barometer originally purchased in Marin sometime in the mid to late part* of the last century. The 3-1/2" face mechanical timepiece has a 7 Jewels 8 Day windup movement. The 5" in diameter by 2" deep Diecast brass plated( case(pattern number P 4592) is splashed with battleship grey over-paint. The back of both pieces still have the original price stickers. There is No Key for the clock. The original key was held in place with a set screw or cotter pin. So I'm totally guessing. But based on other items in the estate and the construction of the pieces themselves, the indication is that they were made in the 1960s through 1970s. Up for auction is this very unique antique/ vintage Owl clock by Lanshire of Chicago IL. Dates to the early 60's. Heavy chalkware. Keeps perfect time! Could be mantle. Table or wall clock. There are a few nicks where chalk shows through as seen in pictures, otherwise in excellent condition. Unfortunately Mr. Owl on the left is missing his right glass eye. This is a Chelsea Clock Company Boston"Radio Room" Clock with the Zulu Time Hand. The clock is in working condition and includes a winding Key. The key included is not a Chelsea Key. Based on the serial number. 521298, this clock was made between 1945 and 1949. It could have been used in battle during WWII. Information provided by Chelsea Clock Company confirms the time period of manufacture for this clock. The clock measures 6.5" across the top with the face being 5.5” in diameter. The hinged bezel and release knob operate as they should and make a tight seal. The glass covering the dial is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks or repairs. The dial is a 12/24 hour dial. There is ... morethe minute hand, hour hand, a sweeping second hand and a fourth white Zulu time hand for GMT time. There is a control module to speed up or slow down the clock. Around the dial is a piece that has three screws to hold the dial in place. Most of the ones I am familiar with are black. As you can see from the photos the one on this clock is white. I am not certain if it is original to the clock or if the original was replaced at some time. The clock has two red quadrants located on the dial of the clock. The sinking of the Titanic resulted in the Radio Act of 1912. Requiring 24-hour radio watches at sea. The disaster also led to the design of a special Radio Room clock. Which features two 3-minute periods marked in red to indicate a period of silence when only emergency r adio messages can be transmitted. This is a fantastic piece of Military History.
