It is black and the paint has only mild wear. There are a couple spots with some slight discoloration that you can see in the pictures at the back left top corner and the back side. The is NO KEY. There are about 100 or so unused 4 x 2-1/4 cards and the basic alphabetical separators are there as well. Please check out the pictures. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Mostly metal construction with plastic turning knobs. Measures approximately 7" tall x 7-1/2" wide(turning knob to turning knob) x 7-1/2" deep. Vintage Rolodex in vintage condition. There are some scrapes and scratches. It's missing one pop in foot-you can easily remedy that. Also missing the letter A index divider.
