This beautiful marble desktop pen set with the TWA logo measures 9" by 3" and is 1" thick marble. The marble base does have a very small scratch on the top left hand side as you may see in the third photo. I'm not sure if the pens are original to the set as one is longer than the other. I don't know if that's the way it was meant to be but one measures 6 1/4" and the other is 6 3/4" The marble is a really nice rich deep green/black. I wish the photos showed the color better but I was having a really bad camera day and everything was coming out bluish. The pen holders do swivel. The fountain pen is engraved PILOT SUPER 150 on the barrel immediately below the gold band. Other engraving is visible. But not legible( Perhaps. 10W. and other letters) Japanese language characters are prominent and legible on both barrels of both pens. Three possibly identical Japanese characters on each of the two instruments. The mechanical pencil is signed on the barrel: PILOT 10W( with a symbol. Verinis was the Co-Pilot on the famous MEMPHIS BELLE Flying Fortress during World War 2! CO-PILOT: James A. Verinis from Woodbridge. Connecticut also piloted the B-17"The Connecticut Yankee" Retired from the USAF with the rank of Lt. Colonel. The"MEMPHIS BELLE" was the first aircraft in the VIII Bomber Command to complete its combat tour of 25 missions plus return safely to the USA. A number of VIII BC aircraft completed their tours before the"BELLE" but never reached the USA ZI for a number of reasons. The"MEMPHIS BELLE's" last mission was flown on May 20. 1943 to Wilhelmshaven, Germany where submarine and harbor facilities were bombed. Up for sale is my dark green Pilot 78G fountain pen with a medium size nib. The Pilot nib is gold plated stainless steel. The cap screws off and has a gold trim clip. It's a Cartridge/Converter type pen and has a squeeze converter installed. It can also use standard Pilot/Namiki ink cartridges. No cartridges are included. This pen is in excellent condition. With no dings or scratches. It's light weight, writes very well, and would be a great pen for everyday use.
