Original and intact adjustable height vintage American industrial factory office"typist" chair with maple wood saddle seat and contoured backrest made by the Toledo Metal Furniture Co. Toledo, OH. Both the height of the seat and the seat back are adjustable. The chair is in excellent condition, with the usual expected signs of wear for its age. Vintage American industrial"posture line" factory office typist chairs were fabricated around 1922-25 by the Toledo Metal Furniture Co. in Toledo. OH. The base is rigidly braced and has long wearing quality. The braces which make the base rigid are held in place by retainers set inside the"u" shaped legs, so that there is no pivoting motion to weaken the construction. The back wire or spring support is made of spring steel and yields pleasantly to the pressure of the body. ... moreFour bolts with large size wing nuts hold the seat and"spider" in the base of the chair. Adjustment of height is accomplished by removing the wing nuts and bolts, setting at proper heights and replacing the bolts. No tools are necessary to make this adjustment, which is three inches on each chair by half inch steps. The seat should always be level, which is assured by seeing that the same number of holes appear above or below the brace on each leg of the large steel channel which furnishes the adjustment. Desk Theodore Alexander Office Furniture
This is a unique and very beautiful executive desk. I don't think I have seen a nicer desk in any office. It has been used for years but well maintained. Theodore Alexander is mown for its beautiful wooden case goods and the desk looks great in any home or business office. It is burled walnut with a dark green leather top. The desk is made of 3 parts. 2 base cabinets and one solid top surface. The desk has numerous wooden storage drawers and one file cabinet. I did some price comparison for a new desk online and the retail is $6805.00 and the best sales price I found was $4083.00. The desk need s few chips repaired and the green leather can be touched up to make this desk like new again. The wood grain is simply beautiful!
