Vintage Smythson Of Bond Street Red Leather Writing Portfolio
For your consideration is a lovely vintage Smythson of Bond Street leather writing portfolio in a pebble textured red genuine leather. Purchased when I was much younger. It was carefully stored for most of its life. It is only slightly used- in fact I really do not remember using it very much at all, though there is a slight scratch that is fairly long, which I have tried to capture in the last two photos. The interior is red as the outside, with a tan calf accent lining to the back compartment. This lining is slightly discolored, especially near the edges. Please see the photos for details on the scratch and the discolorations. This is used, and being sold as-is, with no returns. Page refills are still available from various places. Offered for your consideration is a Bosca writing portfolio travel day planner made in the USA c.1995. It’s made of fine Bosca hand-stained hides in burgundy and measures 7¾” tall x 5⅜” at widest when closed not including the strap. Please have a look at the large photos I’ve taken. And read the remaining description text, to decide if this useful Bosca accessory is suitable for your needs. This Bosca notebook is in clean. Very good condition. It does have a number of small nicks and scuffs consistent with several years of sparing adult use but no deep scratches, stains or significant detractions. Plus, I didn’t notice any breaks to the heavy stitching and the hidden brass clasp on the strap locks down positively to secure the halves. Worn-in, but far from worn-out, it presents very nicely overall. Features-wise. It’s like a large wallet ... morewith six-ring binder! It has one voluminous, silky-lined pocket accessible from top, two inner flaps, a small pocket opposite a zipped pocket, five bankcard slots, an ID compartment, and a pen holder. The window to the ID slot is a bit scuffed, typical of the clear plastic used, and there's a small fissure adjacent to the zipper but that’s about it. Also, the original Bosca note paper/address book is not available which really isn't an issue since you wouldn’t have much use for someone else’s phone numbers, etc. So, I purchased a Mead six-ring memo book refill for the new owner’s convenience. What’s more. I’m including a Pelikan Pura rollerball pen in blue/chrome finish. It surely didn’t come from Bosca when the portfolio was new. But was there when it came into my possession. The pen is in decent shape but does have plenty of light scuffs to the finish and the refill is empty. It’d make a great daily use pen and Pelikan rollerball refills are available at better stationary/office supply stores and, of course, on eBay. Very nice gently worn 100% silk suspenders with leather button tabs. Portfolios by Perry Ellis The straps are 100% silk and are a dark blue with a variety of brown and tan sea shells. They have shiny brass adjustable buckles. They have brown leather buttonholed tabs front and back. They have a white elastic band on back for comfort looks like it might have been over stretched a little near bottom leather tab. But still has a lot of stretch left to it. The suspenders are gently worn, and except for the afore mention issue with elastic, they are very good condition. Silk is great, leather shows signs of use, and brass looks new.
