There are a couple of marks commensurate with age. But as you can see in the pictures it’s easy to set and easy to use. You might want to take a Q-Tip to the roller to eliminate that tiny extra mark if it bothers you, but it’s fine just the way it is too. For some reason the camera flash shifted the color a little and makes it look a little more red than it is. So I included shots each way. I had to use the flash, though, to show some of the details. Please see the pictures for a more complete description or in case I’ve missed or forgotten to mention something, and please don’t hesitate to ask for more pictures if you can’t see something. A Very Interesting American Violin by Kelsey, East Aurora 1928, bearing the maker's label and a restoration label(restored by Desmond Moleski. Orchard Park 1971) LOB 357 mm Up for auction this week and without any reserve price we have this beautiful American violin in the style of Guarneri made by H. O. Kelsey in 1928 at East Aurora. The selection of woods is very nice with a very well figured maple and nice grained spruce, the varnish present a nice patina and normal wear from age, there are only 2 old repairs by both sides of the tailpiece, they are visible in the pictures, these repairs are very well done, stable and won't cause any problem in the future. GOOD ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BRASS-BOUND MAHOGANY WRITING SLOPE WITH MAKER'S LABEL
A very nice Antique Victorian mahogany brass-bound writing slope in excellent condition. The slope features the original maker's paper label: Thomas Biggs of 57 Rathbone Place. Oxford Street, London. The interior felt surface may well be original. The cabinet work and the brass fittings are in excellent condition. Excepting a very slight ripple to the right hand brass strapping to the rear of the box ~ approximately 1 inch of ripple. There are no ink wells with the slope nor is there a key. The lock.However is in good condition and there is no evidence of damage. T here is no secret drawer. Dimensions: 40 cms x 24 cms x 14 cms. The packed weight will be over 6 kilos Overseas delivery will be quite expensive.
