Mid-Century Modern TV / ELECTRONICS STAND Knoll - Herman Miller Era
The stand is 14 ¾” high with 21 3/8” by 14” top. It measures approximately 20” by 20” at the base including the splay of the castors. It is made of cast aluminum and steel with chrome plating on the column. The balls in the casters are hard rubber. The stand is sturdy and beautifully made. It weighs approximately 15-pounds. The design of the base is similar to bases made by Knoll and Herman Miller. It is not marked and I don’t know the manufacturer. The base has a 1966 Patent Number and is also numbered 7939. It is in very nice condition with some scratches and surface mars. There are also some surface nicks in the black finish under the legs.

For your consideration is one(1) super rare EAMES Herman Miller black fiberglass arm chair upholstered in the distinct and iconic Alexander Girard designed purple and red checkerboard fabric. Mounted on a low lounge height rod base. Better known as a cat's cradle base. This Eames Girard LAR is a true collectible. Practically pristine. Museum-quality, exquisite in every way. Recently acquired from a veteran collector with an extensive collection of mid century art and furniture. Herman Miller logo as well as the Summit interlocking double triangles embossed on the bottom of the black armshell. With fiberglass threads beautifully visible throughout. Excellent condition. Certainly one of the best we've seen. We haven't encountered an Eames Girard chair in this particular colorway in such amazing condition. The fabric upholstery appears ... moreto have been steam-cleaned and/or professionally restored and redone by the original owner, because we can't find any of the usual flaws typically spotted in Girard upholstered Eames chairs. There's no surface soiling or fabric rips, and the seat cushion is still soft. The shock mounts and screws have been replaced, since the old ones were dry and brittle. The black rubber piping has some wear and superficial scuffs from normal use, as shown. The cat's cradle base has some wear and oxidation on the rods but is otherwise solid and structurally sound with no breaks. This highly-coveted Alexander Girard checkerboard pattern boasts a very sleek. Sporty look, reminiscent of a racetrack flag. It's one of Girard's most well regarded designs and one of the most requested for custom orders during his tenure as the director of design at Herman Miller's textile division, where his fabrics were used for the Eames and Nelson chairs and sofas manufactured by Herman Miller. For your consideration is one(1) uber rare. All-original EAMES ROPE EDGE fiberglass arm chair on the ever-elusive, vintage swivel dowel base. The swivel dowel base was only in production for a couple of months before being discontinued and replaced by the more popular solid steel tubular X-base on which subsequent rope edge armshells were mounted. Gorgeous chair with beautiful swirly fiberglass threads very visible. As you can see. The color is either parchment or ochre. Exhibits age-appropriate wear for a chair that's over 60 years old. Namely, surface soiling, stains, and rust/oxidation on the base, a slight bend on one metal rod, and a stress mark on the bottom left of the armshell, as depicted. It doesn't appear to swivel 360 degrees and gets stuck on one of the mounts(this can likely be fixed by raising the swivel disc of the ... morebase by a centimeter or so, but we don't want to touch it as we prefer to sell vintage items exactly as found and acquired) These are already reflected in the price, since original rope edge swivel dowel chairs routinely go for $3K-$4K on other sites.
