This is a set of 3 vintage 60's or 70's elephant gray Herman Miller Eames side shell chairs. Shells only. These are in good used condition. Light scratches and scuffs in spots but these will clean up well. No chips or cracks. One shell is missing a shock mount and some of the mounts need to be replaced. They are mounted in the wide position and will only fit a wide stacker base. New mounts can be repositioned in the narrow position to fit all other bases. Nice set. Just need a little TLC. Herman Miller Chadwick Seating Sectional Sofa 8 Pieces Black
Circa 1970 Herman Miller Chadwick Seating in very good usable condition. Eight inward curving pieces make a half circle with a 7 foot inner diameter and approx. 12 foot outer diameter. I have tried to photograph the flaws. So keep in mind that although there are some bent corners on the plastic bases, most of the corners(there are 32 corners) are not bent. One corner is cracked(photo 11) but it is a back corner and doesn't affect the section as far as sitting goes. The fabric is mostly in very good condition. The owner did not smoke or have pets, but a small dog did visit occasionally, so there may be a stray pet hair. The black fabric is a hopsack-type weave(fiber unknown to me) with multi-colored flecks that are more noticeable on the sides than on the seat and backrest surfaces. Sectional is sold as is, and there may be small flaws ... morethat are not pictured. I cannot ship these. But if buyer wants to arrange for them to be picked up by a shipping service that may be possible. I would appreciate pick-up within two weeks of the end of the auction. Herman Miller Chadwick Modular Seating group in very good usable condition. Designed by Don Chadwick in 1974. Eight inward curving pieces make a half circle with a 7 foot inner diameter and approx. 12 foot outer diameter. I have tried to photograph the flaws. So keep in mind that although there are some bent corners on the plastic bases, most of the corners(there are 32 corners) are not bent. There are two more corners similar to picture 6. One corner is cracked(photo 11) but it is a back corner and doesn't affect the section as far as sitting goes. About 18 corners have no bending, and 7 have very minor bending. The fabric is mostly in very good condition. The owner did not smoke or have pets, but a small dog did visit occasionally, so there may be a stray pet hair. The black fabric is a hopsack-type weave(fiber unknown to me) with multi-colored ... moreflecks that are more noticeable on the sides than on the seat and backrest surfaces. Sectional is sold as is, and there may be small flaws that are not pictured. Herman Miller label appears to indicate a manufacture date of 1985. I cannot ship these. Herman Miller Caper Multipurpose Operator/Task Chair w/ Flexnet, Arms & Casters
CHAIR IS DAMAGED and needs repair to be operational again. The story: In trying to replace the seat pan. I was unable to remove the bolt attaching it to the main assembly. Sawing the broken seat assembly(see photos) allowed for more leverage on the bolt. However, unfortunately I am horrible with tools, and managed to break a bolt extractor in my attempt to remove the bolt that attaches the seat pan to the main chair assembly(see photo) I will never try to use a bolt extractor again. While I am sad that it is currently beyond my skills to repair it. I hope that someone has the tools and technique to fix an otherwise great chair. All of the aluminum body mechanics. Spring, linkage, and seat adjustment are all in perfect working order. The only issue is the frozen bolt attaching the broken seat pan. This color combination is one of the best i've ever seen.Elephant Hide Grey(EG) fiberglass with a dark red(Burgundy/wine) colored naugahyde cover and black edge trim. The only notable condition blemishes are on the seat of the chair.it has a spot that looks as if it was repaired(photos#5& 6) The patch shade is slightly brighter but it was well done and does not effect the seats integrity and one 1/4" slit near the repair that is barely noticeable and very tight. The seat cushion is still soft and the foam springs back and the seam is tight as it was 30 years ago when it was made. Herman Miller Fiberglass Shell Chair Stacking Base Orange Mid Century Modern
I believe this Herman Miller Fiberglass shell chair is from the 1950's or 60's. It is in good condition with normal wear from age and use. Such as fading, scratches and some rough spots around the outside edges. A few of the scratches are a little deeper than others, and there is also a chip on the front edge of the seat. Please look at all of the photos to get a good idea of the condition. It comes with the stacking base which is in good condition and all of the round metal feet are present, but there is some surface rust. One of the round rubber bumpers is loose and will probably come off when it is taken apart for shipping. It is marked Herman Miller on the under side of the base with the Herman Miller logo. The arms are 23-1/4" tall. The seat is 17-1/2" tall, 22-1/4" wide and 19-1/4" deep. The back is 19-1/2" tall. The chair is good condition, it does show some vintage wear. This is a genuine Herman Miller Eames Lounge and Ottoman that I am the original owner of since the early 1980s(1983/84) I worked for Herman Miller for over 31 years and this was my first treat on my one year anniversary. It is in the original Rosewood Veneer that Herman Miller stopped using in the 1990s due to their commitment to the environment through the use of renewable wood veneer options. The chair is in great shape though certainly not new as it's been my chair of choice for the past 30 years. I tried to show the wear conditions in the pictures and the leather edge of the Ottoman shows the worse wear. These cushions are stuffed with down feathers and the chair sits as Chales Eames as intended. I just keep it oiled every six months. it's in excellent condition considering it's a 50+ year old table. I tried to take photos with different light to show the finish.
