For sale is my 1958 Eames by Herman Miller rosewood lounge chair that needs restoration. The wood shells are near perfect and have no cracks, drill holes or chips in the veneers edge. The aluminum will need polishing and is otherwise in good condition. The goose down cushions and fill as well as the backing and all clips/snaps are in great condition. The black leather is in great condition except for the seat that needs to be redone. All cushions are still in great and useable condition as is. I will also sell just the good original black leather as in both armrest, backrest and head rest for 975.00. So anyone needing 1958 leather in great original condition, here is you chance. Vintage Herman Miller Eames Executie Leather Chair (Brown)
Originally $4995. I paid $1800 for this chair last year. I was told this chair has been sitting in a small town bank for over 10 years. Except for some minor leather scratches/cracks on arm rests. This top of the line leather chair feels great. No modern product can compare. The height of the chair is adjustable. All 5 wheels are working perfectly fine. Amazingly, the cushion is still firm. One of the things I really like about this chair is the depth of the seat. It is deep enough so I don't feel like I might slip out of the chair anytime(unlike some of the modern day design) I am moving oversea and unfortunately it is too costly to ship it. Rare is thrown around a lot. But this really applies. I doubt you will see another of these for some time. Great mid-century 50's design by Boston( father of modular homes) architect Carl Koch for Tubbs of Vermont. Tubbs produced snow shoes in the mid-19th century. And later made innovative chairs out of the very same snow shoes in the early 20th century. This modern design reduces the concept even further into a strikingly simple and economical update. Probably his most clean and best chair design. One of the very first string chair designs. They made thousands of Eames chairs. But they made very few of these. Used. Shows age appropriate wear. Tear, scratches, stains, dirt, etc. Pictures 2& 3- demonstrate some marks within the chair cover- there are others. Pictures 5& 6 demonstrate some of the scratches, etc. on the outside shelling- there are others. Pictures 11& 12 demonstrate where the trim/pipping come together that it is split- front underneath view. Chair is comfortable and swivels nicely. I did not see any tears in the covering or thread pulls, but please keep in mind I might have easily missed something. I believe the screws have been replaced in the bottom of the chair. Note: This is for local pick-up only in Boulder. Colorado 80305. Can hold the chair for up to 3 weeks from final sale date. Herman Miller LCM chair. Stamped"LCM" on seat bottom center. Original foil labels. One label is almost impossible to read, but in sideways light I can make out, Herman Miller- zeeland michigan" and above that the word: Designs" 2nd label partially torn, has numbers on it. See photos of silver label, hard to read, but definitely there. Chair is sturdy and comfortable. Wood is in good shape. But has some wear. There are some shallow scratches here and there on the seat and back, a small water mark, a very small edge chip on the back and seat. Chair sits well, the back moves with your back, a very clever design. Measures 26 1/2 inches from the floor to the top of the back. Seat measures 22 inches across, ... more20 inches back to front and around curve. The feet glides are in very poor shape with rubber cracked(currently taped on) but I think you can replace these, I've seen these glides on Ebay. Please email with any questions. Vintage 1979 Eames Lounge Chair by Herman Miller #1
Vintage 1979 Herman Miller Eames lounge chair. Classic black leather on rosewood. The wood portion of the chair has no cracks or large scratches though it does have small dings and wear along the exposed edges. The leather cushions are still soft and have no holes, tears, or significant wear, even on the armrests. The metal base has all five original"Insulated Domes of Silence" and lots of wear marks along the edges of the black coating. The chair twirls around nicely. I have not opened the cushions but they have held their shape very well and don't have that squished, deflated look that happens to old couches. However, the plastic/vinyl bottom of the seat cushion has a crack at one corner. I unartfully repaired it with tape to protect the cushion when I slid it back onto the clips on the wood shell but I'm sure someone ... morewho knows what they are doing can easily patch it using the proper materials. The chair is one of two originally purchased in 1979 by my father. Alas the sales papers are long gone but it was from an Herman Miller/Eames furniture dealer in Southern California. This chair was in his home office and rarely used which is why it is in such nice condition. I am also auctioning off the one he had at his work office which is very nice but has more signs of use. I can either disassemble the chair and ship it to you or am happy to pack it up whole for a freight shipper. Local pickup would be wonderful. The rear legs extend a bit further back than regular H-bases(approx. 22.5" from front to rear leg. 2x Vintage Original 1961 HERMAN MILLER Eames Mid-Century "LA FONDA" Chair Shells
Set of two(2) vintage. Original(1961) and rare mid-century Herman Miller Eames"La Fonda" chair shells(no bases) being sold in as-found, unrestored condition; the fiberglass portion of the chair shell has no cracks or chips, but is missing the original shock mounts and needs a thorough cleaning(please note that all of the shells in my possession also have 5 very small holes around the shock mounts(visible within the pics) and I expect that these are original to the manufacturing(possibly as vents) but can make no guarantees of that; the fabric is intact, has no tears, but is dirty; the foam appears to have hardened. The seats can certainly be used as they currently are, but could be restored wonderfully if so desired. Herman Miller Eames Era Steel Frame Chair Orange Upholstered Marked
Here is a vinyl and upholstered steel frame chair marked Herman Miller in two locations. This chair is somewhat of an oversized chair- it is about 2 foot wide. The seat back is about 26" high and goes half way up the back of my head, and the seat depth is about 19 1/2" deep. The measurements of the chair around the base are about 25" x 22" The front of the chair is an orange color, and I believe it is vinyl. The back and underneath of the chair is all upholstered material, a orange/green very small tweed design. The chair is marked on the front of the frame with the Herman Miller logo and name, and is also marked underneath with a sticker that says inspected by Lloyd DeKoc(I think) and then Herman Miller. The front side of the chair has some small marks, pinpricks, and very very tiny slices and one spot(almost looks like ... morea cigarette burn) where the back meets the seat. The upholstery, though dirty, has no rips or holes in it. This chair is really in nice shape for its age, and needs a very good cleaning. It is very sturdy and quite heavy, I am not sure what the metal/chrome frame is made of, but it is a magnetic material. The black frame around the back of the chair is not magnetic, nor are the armrests. The chair will be disassembled for delivery and to save on shipping charges. Up for sale is an original fiberglass shell chair in a deep. Beautifully rich navy blue color designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. It is in great. Vintage condition, but it is used, so there are the usual small scratches. The underside grommets and other hardware are in good condition as well. The shell is structurally solid with NO cracks in the fiberglass. But there are four holes drilled in a straight line on the bottom of the chair, it was an upholstered chair and the vinyl was removed, so it may be appropriate to add a throw blanket or pillow on to the chair, but that's just my opinion. The chair has a Star base with a narrow mount configuration which you could swap out for narrow mount bases Rocker.
