I'm selling a vintage Allen Corp. wood swivel desk chair. Smoke free home. This shows wear with scratches on seat. Back and side of chair and some squeaking from the spring. Seat may need to be adjusted b/c when sitting on it, it slightly leans to one side. Sold as-is as this is a vintage piece. Finely crafted in Bedford Ohio. 1. The higher desk chair we believe is solid cherry with leather upholstery. There is wear from use on the arms of the chair and two marks on leather on back that could be rubbed out with saddle soap. Has a spring seat. We do not see any cracks in wood or leather but lots of nice charm and character. chair is 40" high. 25" wide, seat 20" wide and 18" above floor. Labeled B.L. Marble Chair Co. Bedford Ohio. Leather os all in good shape but seats are compressed from 100 years of people sitting on them. The seats have buttons to hold them together and a couple of buttons are gone but could be restuffed and buttons replaced. Chair is 37" high 24" wide with 20" wide seat 18" above floor. Ebony wood dressing table or desk tray with silver embellished compartment lids. Measures 13 x 8 inches. Stamped'REAL EBONY' to the base. Both lids have vacant cartouches and hallmarked London 1920, makers mark H F Daltrey& Co. the engravings are very clear, not at all rubbed and the hallmarks distinct. The ebony is in near perfect condition; there is a nick to the corner of one lid(see photo) a 1.5 inch hairline crack to one side of the base and a small rough mark to the inside, none of which are at all noticeable but I like to be meticulous. It has a very high polish. We wanted to use this type of chair for the little ones in our house and realized th at any vi ntage/ antique furniture would need to be bare wood. It was in mediocare condition so we decided to restore it. All the paint and finish has been completely removed. Chair is unfinished wood at the present time. The medal is a 2X2 inch square and is 1/4 inch thick and is in excellent to near mint shape. The engraving plate has some vertical scratches. The engraving plate could be used as is. But I image, it could be unscrewed and flipped to a clean side. The metal parts all remove from the base. Thus even though the base is in great shape, you could re-stain it or use a different one if you wanted a little project but I would personally keep it original and maybe just flip the plate if I wanted to have it engraved and given as a gift. Vintage Child's Wood Desk with Hideaway Cubby Holes that Lower to Become a Table
I found this unusual vintage child's desk at an auction. I am not an expert on vintage furniture so I am not real sure about the date. It could even be 1960's. Please view the pictures carefully as they are an important part of the description. The desk has 3 drawers, I removed the drawer in one picture so you can see the way the drawer slides in and a close up of the drawer. The cubby hole drops down to form the flat top that you see in the last pictures. There is a wooden mechanism using a wooden rod to slip through a hole to hold the cubby or shelf with dividers up or pull it out to allow it to lower. It measures 20" high x when cubby is up it adds 6" to the height, 26.5" front to back deep, x 27" from side to side.
