This is an Antique Wood Stenciled Guilded Slope Desk/ Lap Desk. It is very sturdy and solid. The box has a dark finish. The patina is excellent. The box is about 11" W. 7 3/4 D" 3 1/2" H. There is a lock. But no key. The cloth lining needs to be replaced. The box has some marks.A paint spot, and ink stains on it. Vintage 1940's 1950's Childrens Desk. This childs desk is a seat combined with a desk that has many functions. It has a removeable chalk board that reversed is a metal white board. Inside the storage area there is also a pegboard. The entire structure disassembles easily for shipping or storing. Small Antique Brass Scool Bell This is an unusually small size of a brass school bell. Probably used at a desk, rather than in a school yard. It measures 6" tall x 2 3/4" wide across the base. It has a nicely tiered black wooden handle with a brass tip on top and brass collar. There is a small crack in the collar where the handle meets the bell. But the handle will still be tight just by turning it, and holding the clapper inside at the same time. The brass has a wonderful dark patina which only comes with age. Fit into solid crystal bases. Mirrored dark wood tray with 3 compartments. Measures 12" x 5" x 1 1/4" tall. 4 round feet underneath to protect desk surface. There is some discoloration to mirrors. Wood is in great shape, no scratches, minor wear on one bottom edge. There is also a solid crystal paperweight. Has a small fleabite. See photos. One of the crystal pen bases has chips on the top. This one is pretty much like new inside and likely was either not used much, or maybe not at all. As you can see in my photos it folds up closed neatly so it can be tucked away. My closed up photo has the wood on the exterior, but I think the chalk board goes on the outside. When it is closed up it measures approx. 22 inches long, 17 inches wide, and about a bit under 3 inches thickThe exterior wood is in very nice condition with no damage. There is a Lewis E. Meyers& Co. name in the upper left corner. On the bottom of the wood case is a map of the United States, which does show a lot of age, likely from the slide wear, plus age darkening. Flower, and butterfly motif painted in black and gold paint.
