Vintage Mid Century Industrial Tanker Retro Chromcraft Office DESK CHAIR
Up for auction is this great industrial office chair. It is made by Chromcraft. St Louis. Chromcraft moved from St Louis in 1962 so the chair is definitely before that time- my guess is 1940's or 1950's. It is very heavy duty- is comfortable and rolls perfect on its casters. This no-reserve auction offers a retro steel coat rack and office valet. There are no maker’s marks but we’re pretty sure this was made in the 1950s. This is an all steel office valet. It has a bar for hanging coats(on a hanger) Three top shelves, one bottom shelf, and two holders(one on each side) for stashing canes and umbrellas. This would usually have been found in a small office or business. Along with a matching suite of steel tanker desk furniture. The cosmetic condition is very good. There are no bends. Gouges, dings, or rust marks anywhere. The only imperfection I can find anywhere is a cap is missing from one of the shelf tubes. It looks like it was repainted cream. And it was originally a slightly different shade of cream. The paint isn’t perfect. The condition can be seen in the photos. Vintage Industrial Machine Age arm chair.The steel frame is beige and the seat and back are dark green vinyl.The arm rests are also done in matching vinyl.The seat is thickly padded for comfort.The base has the typical H frame shape so common in that era.It has no name on it.
