It is not without blemish, but is structurally sound and in very good overall condition. This is a sturdy piece of furniture weighing 36 pounds. The most significant blemish is at the left hinge(when facing the piece) where the top folds back into the desk(this should be visible in the last picture) The hardware is a bit temperamental and has caused a knick in the wood. But the damage is not visible when the desk is open. There is some repair to where the back left leg attaches to the base which is not visible unless you are under the cabinet. I have owned this piece since the early 70s. There is some evidence on the bottom that it has previously been painted. It now has a beautiful finish with a lovely patina that is at least 40 years old. When it was purchased. The antique dealer indicated they had never seen another sewing cabinet that converted to a desk. And I have never seen another one in the more than 40 years I have owned this one. Wooden Slant Top Desk w/2 Inside Drawers
This antique wooden slant top desk opens up to reveal a storage area divided into compartments in the back. Two of which have drawers in them. The desk measures 33” wide. 23” deep and is 30 1/2” high in the front and 38 1/2” high in the back, including the back panel. It has a keyhole and some metal hardware inside but there is no key and the lid does not latch down. This desk most likely originated in the South. I do not know the age of the piece but would guess late 1800s? The inside compartments and drawers may have been added at a later date. It is not pine or oak but otherwise I am not sure what kind of wood it is made from. The outside has been stained at some point but the inside shows how light-colored the wood was originally. Antique 1800's desk slant front top or possibly a counter top desk for a country store. Etc. I believe that it's all original with the original outside finish and interior light green paint. The wood is walnut, popular back in the old days. The early desk hardware is pictured in photos# 3 and# 8. As you can see it possibly is a desk that just sat on a counter, etc. because of the way it's not finished on bottom and not much of evidence of any nails or screws holding it on to a base, so possibly a complete unit in itself and all complete. Photo#9 shows the pencil or pen holder that extents the whole inside front. In photo#4 the hole for an early ink well can be seen. It measures about 26 inches wide, about 20 1\4 inches deep and about 8 1\2 inches high in back and about 6 1\2 inches high in front. Hinges, Hardware ~ Circa 1890-1900 Unit Measures 50” x 43 ½” x 26” ~ Stored in Smoke-Free Home This is a once-restored antique oak roll-top watchmaker’s or jeweler’s bench from between the 1890’s or 1900 or so. It is in very good condition and shows normal wear and tear for it’s age—over a decade—100 plus years. As shown in the photos. There are also some surface scratches, dings, paint speckles, and staining on the canvas catch cloth. This lovely watchmaker’s bench has nine drawers. Two deep cabinets or cupboards with doors, two drop down oak sides, and a canvas catch drawer. All original drawer pulls, hooks, hinges, hardware, and the canvas catch are intact and fully functioning. The roll-top piece ... moreworks well, rolls easily, and engages a set of drawer locks when closed. We do not have a key. The unit measures 50” H x 43 ½” W x 26” D. Workbench height is 39” from the ground. All wood is solid oak. This bench has a tambour shaped roll-top that completely covers the work area when closed. Each side drops down by unhooking hooks to provide an even larger tabletop surface which measures 60” across. One of the cupboard enclosures was specifically designed to house watchmaking and jeweler’s tools; the other enclosed the flywheel for the treadle. This antique roll-top jeweler’s bench does not include the original watchmaker’s lathe. Driving pulleys, treadle, or other related machinery. The folding legs are turned and have wooden casters, and the drawers are made with dove tail joints. This is a very sturdy desk which I have been using for the past six years as my computer desk. Unusual Oak Victorian Writing Desk Secretary Heavy Brass Hardware c1890 No Res.
You are bidding on a very beautiful solid oak drop front ladies writing desk that reminds me of a very fancy Larkin Style Desk. There is a mohogany desk similar to this one with all the heavy brass detailing. It is made by the Paine Company. I believe it says on their label. My desk has the original golden oak finish. It is in very good condition for its age, minor wear& tear. All the brass decoration is original. There is lots of hand carving and also applied carvings. It has a book shelf at the bottom. There is a beautiful oval bevel mirror on the backsplash. The inside of the desk has a grand writing surface and lots of pigeon or cubby holes for extra stuff. You are bidding on a Wonderful walnut traveling writing desk. I believe this to be civil war era but there is a paper calendar applied on the one board from 1884. Not sure if that is orginal from when desk was made, Made of walnut with brass corner plates and orginal handles, have the key and the lock does work, the insert around the key hole is missing, this was probably made of bone, the inside is orginal, the covering is worn and stained, has small cubbys to hold things, measures 18 x 9 7/8 and 6 inches high. The desk includes an ink bottle receptacle, pen holder, and three compartments for letters or other small items. The desk sits in the shallow wooden base that is stained to match the desk. The desk only sits in the base. It is not attached in any way that harms the desk's integrity. The base is attached to an antique wrought-iron sewing machine stand. For auction is this unique art deco desk. The desk is very well made as can be seen in the photogragh showing the dovetail joints on the drawers. Going by the weight and wood grain it is most likely made from oak and is thus robust and hardwearing. The desk is a black/brown colour with chrome handles on the drawers and frosted glass on the lamp. Condition is good. There are no repairs, the drawers operate smoothly and the desk is very strong. I have been using the desk daily in my home office for the last 6 years and it is very functional. Even with a desktop PC on as I have used it. The frame is steel, and the drawers are wood. The 7 drawer fronts are painted a Yellowish Orange and Beige. All hardware is in place. The steel frame is brown. There is a small piece of laminate that has come off the right back corner and that I have saved so it can be easily glued back on. Also the left side lower drawer is a bit sticky, but does pull out. One with silver plated top and the other with brass top, no chips or cracks in the inkwells. I rewired it for safety so its good to go for another 8 0 years. The little ball screw on the top unscrews and the arm slides in and out. The lamp is 12 inches tall and the base is 6 inches square. The total length on the arm is16 inches. The light drops down 8 inches and the slag glass shade is 5 1/2 inches by 5 inches across the bottom. It has the original paddle switch and cloth cord. It works as you can see in the pictures. The decorative metal trim around the bottom of the shade has become bent a little but is still secure. The lamp still retains its original patina. I didn't clean it. Greist Mfg. Co Oak Leaves Brass Art Deco Desk Lamp Complete Early 1900s Vintage
Brass lamp made by Greist Manufacturing Company New Haven Conn in good working order. I’m not sure of the purpose of the curved arm. Perhaps it is to set on a type of desk with a high back so the lamp can shine light down such as a roll top. Arm bends at both the base and the socket for a wide range of positions. Base is case iron. All parts are original aside from the cord being replaced at some point so the lamp could continue to be used. Brass has what I believe to be the original liquor on it that has oxidized over time giving it a deep brown hue. The off white paint that highlights the leaf stamping is original and is rare to fine intact as on this lamp. There may be a light coat of newer liquor to even the sheen out. Cord is in good condition. There are two very small dings in shade which are too small to notice in the photos. Lamp ... moremeasures about 10” tall. VINTAGE STENCILED TOLE DECORATOR DESK LAMP
Up for your consideration is this vintage stenciled tole decorator desk lamp. It is made of metal and finished in off white and antique gold. The lamp has a frosted glass hurricane shade. The wiring is older but works fine. The on/off switch is on the socket. The lamp is in good condition overall with minor paint loss. This is a vintage. Elegant and a highly decorative piece. The lamp measures 24 1/2" high and 14 1/2" wide overall. The base measures 6" in diameter. Please view my other items currently in auction as I will combine shipping where I can. I was told by a thoughtful member that this used to be old stove/oven lamp made into a desk lamp. And it looks that it was done back in time when nuts used to be square. The electrical wiring and plug are vintage from the period. It works and it is a very distinctive. Vintage Desk/Table Lamp-Metal-Mid Century-Original-Works!
Vintage desk or table lamp. Probably 1950's to early 1960's. Steel with aluminum shade. Made by the Sight Light Corp. in Deep River. Conn. Nice overall condition. It works. Original bronze finish has some light scuffing and a couple of tiny chips. Should clean up and only get nicer or restore. The aluminum shade would be great if polished. A couple of small, shallow dings to shade. Not that noticeable or push out to make better. Cord is original and OK. Felt on base. Good looking, well made light that displays well!

I have a pair of mahogany and brass swivel arm table lamps that are in very good condition. need a bit of polishing and wood may need some old english.work fine.brass arms extend.has hand holding leaf finial on each one. these stand 21 inches tall to the top of the finial and the arms extend 9 inches. you may not want the shades.they are older and cracked behind the fabric.I can ship these without them.thanks for looking!

Vintage Antique Farber Iron Gooseneck Desk Table Lamp Works NR!
This is a vintage or antique iron goose neck desk or table lamp. I'm not sure i f it should be described as industrial or deco but it is a very nice example o f it's era. The design on the iron base is exceptionally nice and we ll defined. On the bottom is says. S.W. Farber I nc. Brooklyn N.Y. Pat. Appld. It has a bronzish finish that I believe is original or quite old. Please see pics for best description. It works and is in nice antique condition. It does have a little rust. It looks very surface to me. I have not cleaned it. I will leave that to buyers pr eference. It has a lovely patina. It does not have a shade. It would look very nice with a metal or glass shade. I am selling it as is. The cord has a nice vintage switch(please see pic) there is also a switch o n the socket. It has a very long cord. Vintage Industrial Desk Lamp - Machine Age Task Light - Cast Iron - Steampunk
Vintage industrial desk lamp. Features metal articulating arms. Cast iron joints, a vintage cast base, an aged brass lamp shade, and three antique cast iron valve handles. The shade, base and handles have a wonderful patina. Wiring is brand new reproduction brown twisted cloth cord and a new antique style plug. Everything works perfectly and safely. The brass socket and turn key have an oil-rubbed bronze finish. The base is a heavy cast iron. Three separate joints enable the lamp to be positioned in a wide variety of ways. The handles at all three joints make re-positioning easier. The valve handles can easily be switched to the opposite side if preferred. I can do that for the winning bidder if requested. The lamp socket takes regular sized bulbs and looks great with a reproduction type bulb. The reproduction bulb is not included but I can ... moreadvise on where they are available. This lamp simply looks stunning and its compact size allows it to fit in many places. Perfect for your vintage industrial or steampunk décor.
