American Chippendale Slant Front Desk, Boston or Salem Massachusetts c. 1770-90
American Chippendale Slant Front Desk over Scroll Cut Bracket Feet Salem or Boston. Massachusetts c. 1770-90 Item# 120201PUP05 Presenting some of the best of the American Chippendale Period. This fine slant front desk is crafted of solid Cuban Mahogany, each side crafted of a single solid plank, through-dovetailed at the top and dovetailed at the bottom. The slant front lid features an original keyhole escutcheon over what appears to be the original brass lock, falling onto arms that slide out with brass knobs- one original, the left one replaced. The open writing surface is clean, with what appear to be two original brass hinges, though curious patching is noted below flanking each hinge. Above the writing surface is a collection of nine small drawers. The centermost shell carved, each with brass knobs, below which a gallery of six pigeon ... moreholes rest in perfect symmetry. The case has four graduated drawers, each of which feature period bail pull brass hardware flanking a replaced lock with original brass keyhole escutcheon. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, the front dovetails hidden behind applied cockbead molding. The drawers are yellow pine secondaries, the bottom being deeply chamfered along the perimeter to rabbet into the frame. They slide easily in and out of the case over replaced drawer runners, the drawer dividers running into the sides behind a mahogany facade, effectively hiding what are probably dovetail joints. The back of the case has all original backboards. Though many nails are replaced. The molded apron features a carved shell drop down medallion in the center that mirrors the design of the middle drawer. The case rests over scroll cut bracket feet, each with an incredible flowing design in the manner of John Chipman(b. 1746-1819) We do not believe the desk was executed in the shop of John Chipman. As his cases will typically feature exposed dovetail drawer dividers in the Newport manner, and the pidgeon-hole gallery will regularly feature more intense scalloping- however,

English Chippendale Mahogany One Drawer Writing Desk England. C. 1760-80 Item# 100004RUP24 Circa the last quarter of the 18th century. Probably 1760-80, this is a fine and simple one drawer English Chippendale writing desk. It is crafted of mahogany primary woods over golden oak secondary woods, with a single solid golden mahogany plank making up the top– carefully affixed with a combination of screws set in wells and a single remaining glue block, the top has survived in outstanding condition with no cracking from shrinkage and expansion over the years. It is surrounded by quarter molding and projects over a single drawer with two bail style pulls, both pulls being period and probably original to the piece, though the pins are replaced(see more below in the condition statement) The drawer is framed with a scratched bead. Simulating cockbead ... moremolding, with hand dovetailing of the front and backs fo the drawer. The frame terminates on four chamfered legs. The frame is dovetail construction over tenon mortise joinery, locking the entire structure with perfection. The interior of the frame has areas of nearly black oxidization, with unfinished hand cuts and carvings throughout the underside, a testament of the tools used by the craftsman. Hand craftsmanship is written all over this piece. With original hand made screws still holding the top to the frame– three of the seven screws are entirely hand made. Rosehead nails are visible underneath on the rear leg blocking. This is an outstanding piece for any collector of the Chippendale Period. Particularly Georgian collections, but also is a wonderful strike point for any fine home. It’s subdued size allows it to comfortably function in a variety of spaces, bringing a strong sense of refined beauty balanced with simple austerity. C. 1770-90 Item# 120411EIU26 This listing is for a Fine Chippendale Period Ball and Claw Slant Lid Desk. Salem or Boston Area, Massachusetts circa 1770-90. It features wonderful dense grain solid board mahogany lid, rabbeting on both sides to complete the horizontal frame, lifting smoothly over replaced brass hinges and falling on two sliding mahogany lopers with original brass knobs to reveal a large writing surface and gallery of nine small drawers and four scalloped cubby holes. The drawers are each inscribed for where each belongs in the scheme of the desk, in pencil 1-9, and each is hand dovetailed with chamfered bottoms rabbeting into the drawer frame. The center drawer is a wonderful sunk 18-lobed shell carved design flowing into the two ... moredrawers below it in a form common in Massachusetts case pieces, each drawer face carved out of a solid piece of mahogany. The case is crafted of solid single boards of mahogany along each side. Dovetailed into the parallel-grained pine case bottom and through-dovetailed at the top. The back is constructed of three large pine boards, behind which a pine bar perpendicular to the boards to support the top to the bottom, dovetailed at both ends with a screw through the bottom. Carved solid molding runs along the bottom of the case with an applied scalloped skirt pendant at the center, reinforced from the back with rounded glued blocking. Each drawer is graduated. Each below larger proportionally to the one above, sliding in and out of the beaded frame. The white pine frame side rails are beaded on their top inner surfaces, dovetailed at the front and backs, the bottom boards running perpendicular to the case, chamfered along the edges and rabbeting into the frame. Here for your consideration is a what I believe is a Gorham sterling silver comb holder. This could have also been used as a note pad holder from a desk set. Although it's pretty big. It is marked Gorham and is from 1890. It is monogrammed and dated as well. It measures 6" across. 2 3/4" tall, and weighs 79 grams. It has a beautiful ornate floral design. I put a brand new Mickey Mouse lamp shade on an older desk lamp. I think it looks great. The Lamp from base to top of shade is approx. 14 inches in length. The base of the lamp is 6" wide. The lamp shade is in perfect condition. The desk lamp is a heavy metal. There is some paint chips in a few places. I took pictures of those places. Heywood Wakefield Antique School Desk - Wood and Iron are in great shape for age
Desktop has a small line of yellow paint that can probably be buffed out but I don't want to ruin this piece by incorrectly restoring it. Seat has a small area that appears to have been taped several time- this also will likely rub out with the right process but I am not comfortable restoring it. This is a very cool piece that can add character to just about any room. I am also including a small wooden replica that I happened to find. This is a wonderful gift set for an educator.

Very Nice Quality c1890 Silver Plated Desk Burner and Spill Holder. This I think this would have been used for heating the wax for seals. You would light the central burner and the two outer spill vases would contain a combination of wax sticks and tapers etc. The central burner would be filled with a paraffin type of liquid and then you would light the wick which would give off a continuous flame. Two German Feldfernsprecher #33 Field Phone and a Heliowatt Desk Telephone Set
This listing is for a lot of Two German Feldfernsprecher#33 Field Phone and a Desk Telephone Set The Feldfernsprecher model 33. Or‘FF33’ was a later development of the FF16. Comprising of a switched handset, connecting to a base unit via a 5 or later. 4 pin plug and lead. The base unit contains the 80 Volt bell and crank inductor circuits, and the 2 Volt switching apparatus common to telephone internal circuitry. not an awful lot of change had been made from the FF16, and indeed, not so much different to the apparatus used in modern armies until the late 1980’s. The unit case is made of brown bakelite. And encloses a full black metal case which contains the vital parts of these units. The handset is also made from bakelite. The first photo is of the entire lot(both mobile sets. The desktop set and all wires) The second photo is a close-up ... moreof the mobile sets in their respective brown bakelite cases(Case measurements: 10-3/4" H x 8-1/2" L x 3-1/2" D) The third photo show the tops of the bakelite cases. The right tag lists the German phonetic spelling alphabet(similar to A = Alpha, B = Bravo, C = Charlie, ect. the left tag reads what may be"OK C" though the"K" is missing the to arm so it looks a little like a lower case H with a straight leg. The fourth photo shows a collection of four extension cords for the handsets. The fifth photo is of two cords which look like modern guitar cables. What looks like a cheat sheet for hooking up the phones, and an antenna. The sixth photo show in more detail the"cheat sheet" The seventh photo is of the Desktop set with battery pack and handset. Vintage 1950'S BC-1 Atlas microphone desk stand cast iron old used Shure Turner
Hello. You are looking at an older Atlas desk stand from Brooklyn. NY(model BC-1) that is in very good cosmetic condition as seen in the pics provided. There is no rust on the main cast iron pieces and they come with the original grey paint. Just a few scratches on the top of the main metal clamp. The chrome stem has very little wear as seen in the pics provided but overall in great condition. Overall dimensions for the stem are 6 inches tall while the entire unit is 10 inches tall.
