Originally an 1840's Victorian melodeon or early reed organ. This antique was remodeled into a fascinating desk about 75 years ago. The original matched rosewood case has a flat top that flips open, revealing tiny compartments and drawers, plus 2"secret" compartments over the pull-out cherry writing surface. Four original legs were hand-carved of pine. The gleaming finish is excellent on all sides. One-of-a-kind American east coast furniture, this picturesque desk is a treasure. This interesting white clock is perfect for a desktop or shelf. The top section of the clock rotates around the base with an ornate metal pointer that shows the time. The clock is electrical. But it requires a spin start to get it ticking. There is a small knob on the side of the clock- give the knob a gentle spin once you plug it in and the clock starts. It appears to keep time, but we haven't checked it for accuracy- there is sliding regulator on the bottom for the clock's speed. Marked"Made in the U.S.A. Pat. No. D-95,184 Other Pats. Mackie 32-8 Mixing Console Sold for spares or repairs. No power supply. This desk does work.I have seen all 32 channels working with a mic signal and they all send signal to the 8 busses and LR. Only one side of phones 1 and 2 work so there is a common fault there. Obvious little crackles and one or two fader intermittancies( I think its just dry joints and the faders seem pretty good) but nothing that a good service wouldn't put right and one plastic side piece has the front part missing and there is a crack on the one on the other side. None of the issues are particularly major and I would be tempted to have these sorted out if I had the time. So I would say this is a good buy for anyone who wants to spend a little time on it. By the way. The picture does not do it justice and a clean up would not be too hard.Bargain

ORG CLARK'S SPOOL THREAD CABINET DESK-LIFT LID-6 DRAWER
SPOOL/THREAD CABINET This is a late 1800's or early 1900's wood spool/thread cabinet. Made for a counter top display and can be used as a desk. The cabinet retains the original painted letters on the drawer fronts and emblem on the back. The piece has six(6) drawers all with original knobs/pulls. It measures at the base 32 1/2" wide x 23 1/2" deep. The lid is angled for a writing/working surface. The piece measures 13 3/4" tall in the front and 14 1/2" tall in the back. The lift lid is 17 1/2" deep and supported by a wood piece to hold in place while working within. The leather top to the lift lid has been replaced and there are three or four wrinkles. The knobs appear to be brass and so do the collars around the knobs. Some of the knobs have dings/slightly bent and need polishing/refinishing. The top drawer ... moreon the right front use to read"White" but the letters are worn from use. The piece no longer has the wood dividers in the drawers for the rows of thread. A previous owner used this piece in his store and inserted hand made tin dividers in two of the drawers for bills/receipts. These could easily be removed if you so desire. The top right drawer was used as a money drawer and the previous owner has made a place for coins within(see photos) The drawers are not perfectly clean and show ink spills/spots/stains/dirt and could be refinished. They are now natural wood. The back decal has been scratched and part of the original paint is missing(see photo) There is a small gap in the bottom trim around the base located at the front left bottom corner. I believe the wood to be oak or ash(not sure) but it is a heavy piece and in nice condition for the age and use. This would be great in a vintage sewing room or with a group of period advertising. Up for your consideration is this beautiful English made mahogany travel desk. This desk has a clock and several compartments for stationary. one compartment. The upper right side, is a little loose and needs gluing but stays in place on its own.it functions nicely) the corners are sterling silver and the stamp marks are visible. The clock reads"patented jan. 29, 1901 jun? 1907" The clock works once in a while for a minute or two but that's it. It is not frozen or locked up. The spring is not wound too tight in my opinion but I'm not a clock expert. May only need a good cleaning. It reads" BY ROYAL LETTERS PATENT" above the clock. The desk is in good shape for its age. Has been properly taken care of and stored. When the desk top is closed the texture is that of some very old fabric( taffeta) glued to the wood ... moreon the underneath of the desktop. This is the part that shows when closed and has the initials"HM" his majesty. This is original and has wear consistent with age. The blotter is very old paper in good condition. There are two layers of paper and a piece of cardboard. I am not sure if the"HM" initials are sterling silver as there are no marks to indicate as such. Antique Art Deco era Crocodile Leather Desk Top Ink Well Accessory
Offered- A good quality Art-Deco era Crocodile Desk Top Accessory c 1920/1930. The exterior consists of a Ink Well, a Stamp Box. Loops for 3 Pens/Pencils and a Top Fold which opens to the interior. The interior of the piece has a surface for writing- with pig-skin folders to the left for paper and envelopes. The piece measures 12 inches by 7 1/2 inches. The ink well appears to be brushed steel with a push-style opener which is located under the leather at the front of the well. The stamp box is divided into 2 sections all of which are lined in pig skin. The Pen/Pencil loops are stable and intact. The bottom of the piece is covered in an old-style brown paper- not in the best of condition- but easily re-covered. I have inserted a piece of marbled paper where the blotter is. American Federal Walnut Antique Slant-Front Desk, Mid-Atlantic States c. 1790
American Federal Walnut Slant Front Desk. Mid-Atlantic States With satinwood inlays over splayed French feet; c. 1790-1810 Item# 130102EWP01 This is a very fine American Federal Period Slant Front Desk of Mid-Atlantic origin. Crafted in solid walnut c. 1790-1810. The lid is a highly figured single board(14 1/4" in horizontal depth) flanked by lipped cleats pinned on either end with an applied molded front lip. It lowers over original forged iron hinges to rest on walnut lopers, revealing eight small drawers over eight valanced pigeon-hole slots flanking a tombstone-door with channel-molded document drawers on either side of it. The scroll cut form of each valance over the pigeon-holes perfectly matches the form of the slot dividers. The interior drawers have numerous inscriptions: each has a"WW" which are intertwined on some ... moredrawers as"X/ one inscribed"Small.amd 74.957 NDE" The interior door opens to reveal a pair of drawers over a large cubby, one of the drawers inscribed: J C(quite clear) Reuben. Or possibly" J C Lieutenant" and dated" January 25th 1787" the 17 of 1787 is quite unclear. But after carefully examining it we are pretty sure that is what is inscribed. The interior cubby is an ingenious bit of craftsmanship- by pulling out a nail from the middle backboard. That backboard quickly is removed from the case; this reveals a natural knot in the pine board behind the cubby-hole with two tiny tenons that drop into the desk; by lifting on this knot, the tenons lift and allow the entire cubby to slide forward out of the desk. It is a gorgeous and flawlessly crafted box of solid walnut with dovetail joinery, the back board lifting out of the cubby-box from rabbets along either side, revealing a pair of hidden drawers inside. It is so well crafted and hidden that while after a close examination, the careful observer might suspect the presence of hidden drawers, actually being able to find these requires access to the backboards. This lamp project began as an old Fostoria adjustable Sewing Machine Lamp and has been adjusted. Altered and manipulated into it's present state. The cast iron, tripod, clawfoot base was salvaged from an old table lamp, the sprocket, handle and knobs are industrial cast offs. The longest tube measures 20" and has a wide range of adjustment in height and angle as the pictures show. The original Fostoria label is intact. Wiring is new, reproduction cloth covered, twisted with a vintage plug and inline bakelite on/off switch. Takes a standard sewing machine bulb. GOOD LUCK!
