Vintage Philco model 40-84 Portable AM Tube Radio~No Reception
This vintage Philco model 40-84 portable AM vacuum tube radio comes in decent to good cosmetic condition. It powered up. But had no reception when tested. The chassis is complete and in good condition, but the tubes have not been tested. The fabric clad wood cabinet body is in good condition, but has some fading, soiling, edge wear, and the leather carrying handle is broken off at both ends(see pictures) The radio body has also has some vintage pin-up girls glued to the sides. Both control knobs(on/volume and tuning) are present and intact. The speaker grille, tuning dial face, and indicator needle are fully intact. The celluloid dial cover is intact, though slightly yellowed. The power cord and plug are intact, but may be replacements. The unit measures approximately 13" 33cm) wide, 9 3/4" 24.5cm) tall, and 7 1/2" 18.5cm) ... moredeep. I have several other modern and vintage electronics available. Offered here is a 8½” Reception Committee K of L 4129 Roanoke. Va gold tone badge with ribbon. There is one hole when held to the light near the top of the ribbon. The Knights of Labor(K of L) officially"Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor" was the largest and one of the most important American labor organizations of the 1880s. Its most important leader was Terence V. Powderly. The Knights promoted the social and cultural uplift of the workingman. Rejected Socialism and radicalism, demanded the eight-hour day. And promoted the producers ethic of republicanism. In some cases it acted as a labor union. The RCA ATSC CONVERTER BOX Model# DTA800B1 Great Condition A very good addition to your analog TV. It allows you to view over the air digital TV/HDTV antenna signals on your analog TV set. I get added stations on my HDTV when I used it. Works using most universal remotes. It looks and works great. You can set it on it's belly or use the fold out leg to stand it up tall which can save space. You can usually use your remote control with it as I did. If not universal remotes work great. I had it and used it for abot 3 months after we moved. We just got a dish and have no real need for it. I didn't know what I should do with it. Untill I noticed at Wal-Mart today that they are still being sold there for $49. I don't have the owners manuel which is pretty small and basic. But you can view and download them online for free. Coaxil cord(s) ... moredid not come with it, but I can send you mine if you need me to. I also have a spliter if you need one. Just in case you need it to add a VCR, DVD player, etc. The only bad thing is that I don't have the 9V power cord that plugs into your wall. You can get them online, second hand stores, etc for about $2. If you want to include $2 I will get one for you and send it with your package. The only thing that disappointed me was that this unit did not come with the red/yellow/white cord for audio/video. They are pretty cheap as well and almost everyone has a couple lying around. Rare Vintage 1781-1881 Yorktown Revolutionary War Centennial French Reception Bag? This bag might have been used by French delegates to the Yorktown Centennial and could have been provided by the French Government since the bag has(Yorktown? Unreadable) Commission de Reception and the date 1881? stamped on the inside. The bag looks as if it could be that old and was well made. I has some issues including the missing buckle on the front and a broken strap in the back. There were delegates from all the states that were a part of the revolution that took part in the celebration. I think this bag was possibly a gift to someone who hosted a French Delegate. Cool piece of history. If this is right. I have no way of knowing if it is but all the research I have done points to that scenario. Please let me know if I am off base on this.

1935 White House Reception Invitation Grouping President Roosevelt From an estate. For auction is a White House invitation with envelope, parking passes, and clippings. The event was a reception for Members of the Judiciary held on January 17th 1935. The envelope was opened at the top. The invitation is printed with the guests name. There are two identical parking passes. There are loose newspaper clippings about the event as well as some that are glued to paper. There are smudges on the parking passes(one much worse than the other as well as the envelope. The envelope is yellowed and has creasing at the top edge. The clippings are rumpled. Some with tears.
