Rare KENWOOD KT-6040 super Tuner - Fully functional and Superb Reception
Fully Functioning Kenwood KT-6040 Tuner This is a rare Tuner. I've owned it for quite a while and have been extremely pleased with it. High sensitivity and GREAT sound. It is exceptional for DX reception because of the filters installed- no modifications are needed to make this a great tuner. If you want to see the reviews. Finding one on eBay-U.S. will be tough. Because we've only seen a couple for sale in many years(one sold for $265 in 6/09) Our contributor Jeroen reports: The KT-6040 was the successor of the KT-7020, which was the higher model of the KT-5020. Because the paper in this period was heavily rag cotton in content, the page is supple, not brittle like more modern pulp papers used after 1880. The back is printed, not necessarily with text related to the image. 11x16" Edge fraying. Or small chips in margin may be present, but would be concealed by any matte used to frame it. The paper used originally had a large component of cloth so, while the image may appear browned, it is not fragile and would respond well to a professional bleaching. 1908 Taft Visiting Sherman at Utica, NY Reception Committee Train Depot Postcard
It took a person like Franklin Roosevelt(of course) to change how things were always done. He's the first Presidential candidate to actually attend his nominating convention. Prior to that. The two individuals would have to meet up somewhere after the convention to size each other up. Bryan's running mate John Kern went to Nebraska to see him. But Taft, here, took the train to Utica, NY to meet his second banana at the train depot, which is captured on several different postcards. This version shows them"photo shopped" right along the tracks in front of the crowd. This is an emulsification photo postcard, which often ends up scratched, bent, worn-on-the-edge and damaged. But this example's in about as nice of condition as we've seen: one corner crease TR and a bit of edge and corner wear. Not bad at all.

Usually, you only see Tom Thumb or Lavinia, his wife, posing together, but in honor of their marriage, Barnum himself, along with Commodore Nutt and Minnie Warren are posing for this rare card. The back of the card talks about the wedding dress and who designed it etc. The four corners are cut at an angle, not sure if it was produced that way, or if someone cut them sometime down the road. VINTAGE CA 1950 PHANTOM RADIO RECEPTION AERIAL CLIP W/ EAR PIECE GADGET W/BOX
Vintage"PHANTOM RADIO" in original box. Late 1940's or early 1950's. Made by Guild-House Co Inc of NYC, the instruction sheet calls it an amazing gadget that provides radio reception without the use of tubes or batteries. Since there is no station selector, the signal from the nearest station will predominate. There is a R-30-U earpiece attached to a 60" wire that splits and has a spring clip at the end of each half of the split. If you are close enough to a radio station, the instructions say that you can attach one clip to a metal bed, bedspring, telephone or attach to the bare end of a wire hung around the room. The other clip needs to be attached to a"water pipe, steam pipe, gas pipe or radiator" None of these things seem convenient for modern living- metal bedsprings? Very decent Optical displays and reception desk. Great for a starter office. Definitely some nicks and splits(it is about 12 years old) but not bad. I moved my location so got new. Would prefer you to come pick up personally but if need movers that is ok but your cost. I would make myself available when they would need to come. I put $1000 in the shipping cost simply because I don't know how much it would cost to move this if hired movers but like I said that would be your cost. So if you were going to pay your cousin $500 to move it then that is the cost to"ship" it. I had to put a value down for the listing.
