For auction is one vintage All Steel Equipment(ASE) armchair from the 1960s. Beautiful. Well-designed brushed steel frame and original upholstery. The frame is spotless and the upholstery is in fantastic condition; not a nick or tear to be found. It is upholstered in a sharp blend of black vinyl and black fabric, and has been thoroughly cleaned. The frame has also been cleaned and polished. The only flaw is that the padding in the seat has deteriorated somewhat and the front edge of the seat slumps a little(see photos) and there's some yellow dust coming out underneath. All are in great condition. The one pictured has a small area of damage to the chair back as seen in the last photo. There is one other chair that has a very small spot of damage(about a 1" split on the side of a seat cushion) Other than that. The green vinyl is damage free. All frames are super heavy duty and in terrific condition(a light cleaning may be needed) Each chair has a double stack of wooden arm rests. There is some chipping and pieces missing from primarily the corners of the wood. This is not fresh damage, the rough edges are worn smooth with time and use. Perhaps in a mill somewhere. 15-1/2" wide x 19" deep x 32-1/4" high overall 18-1/2" high as it sits now. I was able to adjust it up. But when I sat on it it slipped back down. I think it was because I didn't tighten the set screw enough, but in case I'm wrong, I would add a collar or spacer to keep it at the height you want it. Decent condition. The padding doesn't have any rips or tears. There are some little tiny spots that look like white-out splatter or paint on the seat along with other cosmetic marks. There is a very small almost pinhole sized nic to the front of the seat that looks like one of those little spots. The metal parts have scratches and wear to the finish in several places as shown. All this is very normal for chairs of this age. I removed thread that was wrapped around the caster wheel hubs and oiled the chair and it now swivels and rolls around easily. Vintage Cast Aluminum Chair Base Mid-Century Modern Office Propeller Shape 1962
17" square and about 5" high. This is a cast aluminum and welded metal base for a Mid-Century Modern office chair. The only name on the base is embossed on bottom of each foot"ALCO" There are also various patent numbers(see pic) PAT.No. 12349" PAT.No. 181081" PAT.No. 21244" as well as"05/2362" in a circle and in the center is stamped"8-62" There is a 1 1/4" tall x 1" diameter threaded steel rod with woodruff key channel thru the center of this brushed aluminum cast and welded base, and was apparently the major connection with the rest of the chair. It does not have the original caster wheels now but still has the housings for them inserted in bottom of base. No dings or dents and GOOD+ condition, needing some cleaning of the brushed metal surface and the removal of some dirty ... morecardboard inserts in each of the hollow 4 points to this propeller shaped chair base. If not used for intended purpose, it would make a great lamp base or a wonderful sculptural component to whatever you can imagine. Vintage Moss Green Herman Miller Office Chair Up for sale is this WONDERFUL Vintage Mid Century Modern Office Chair from Herman Miller in a scarce moss green color. In Very Good vintage condition with no major flaws. Moss Green upholstery is very clean. With no rips, tears, or snags. Seat base and back look amazing! As pictured, the armrests have shown a little bit of wear, with the fabric thinning a bit, but nothing that breaks color. The fabric color is crisp and consistent throughout. The metal base and and armrests are smooth and shiny, but do show a few nicks and tarnish from years of normal, light use. Also, there is no major pitting or damage to the metal. Original casters roll very freely. The seatback is firm and the angular adjustment works well. The only mechanical flaw is that the lock that allows the seatback to rise up and down ... moreis a bit finicky, but in my opinion, sits perfectly where it is in the lower position. Just a great chair from an amazing company. Marked Herman Miller on the bottom of the seat, and original serial number label is firmly affixed under the metal base. The rich wood and black(maybe leather) and cloth upholstery complement the striking lines. Jasper Manufacturing Co made this fine chair. The wood is very very dense. Im not sure of the species, but its not oak because the lines are too fine and uniform. Full disclosure- the bottom caster is slightly bent. I dont have a vice to straighten it out, but since it was bent, it should bend right back. Second, there is a small blemish on the right side of the chair, its very hard to see in the picture and could be touched up and hidden using the same stuff found at auto repair stores for leather seats. Up for bid is an Antique/Vintage 50s Industrial Mid Century Modern Solid Steel Office Tanker Work Shop Chair in Good Vintage Condition. These old industrial mid century modern chairs are becoming harder and harder to find as industrial& Mid Century furniture is extremely hot right now. This design looks like it was manufactured by(Steelcase or Harter) but it is missing the original paper sticker. The back of the chair and seat adjustable and it also has heavy duty industrial era steel threaded pipe which the chair moves freely up and down on. The chair does have a flaw of heavy wear on the front edge of the seat which I showed you a photo of. I weigh over 200 lbs. and there are no worries at all when I sit on it. Overall. This is such a nice piece that has lasted well over 50+ years without falling apart. It will last another 100+ years ... morewithout falling apart if taken care of properly. The hardware used to put these vintage chairs together with back then was machined and is extremely durable. This chair is unbelievably heavy weighing in at lbs. For auction is one stellar vintage All Steel Equipment(ASE) swivel armchair from the 1960's. This is one of my favorite desk chair designs from this era; the blend of industrial ruggedness and mod swagger is just perfect. Look at those lines. People! The angles of the arms and backrest, the tapered 4-prong base, the hooded casters.and that big black plastic ball on the tension adjustment lever underneath is like the period at the end of a beautifully written sentence. The upholstery is all original and in excellent condition. Though the foam seems to have deteriorated somewhat in front. It looks like it would be easy to have the foam replaced without sacrificing the upholstery, though. It would be a shame to get rid of the original vinyl and fabric blend, though, especially when the only flaw in the upholstery is just a little bit of ... morerubbing on the top rear edge of the backrest(pictured) The metal has been cleaned and polished. And the casters have been relubricated. There is a small amount of pitting on a couple of small areas on the 4-prong base(pictured) but otherwise the frame is rust-free and looks to be finished in brushed nickel plate. The upholstery has also been professionally cleaned. This chair is ready for immediate use! I think this chair was last used for sewing, perhaps in a mill somewhere. 15-1/2" wide x 19" deep x 32-1/4" high overall 18-1/2" high as it sits now. I was able to adjust it up. But when I sat on it it slipped back down. I think it was because I didn't tighten the set screw enough, but in case I'm wrong, I would add a collar or spacer to keep it at ... morethe height you want it. Decent condition. The padding doesn't have any rips or tears. There are some little tiny spots that look like white-out splatter or paint on the seat along with other cosmetic marks. There is a very small almost pinhole sized nic to the front of the seat that looks like one of those little spots. The metal parts have scratches and wear to the finish in several places as shown. All this is very normal for chairs of this age. I removed thread that was wrapped around the caster wheel hubs and oiled the chair and it now swivels and rolls around easily. Mid Century Modern, Cramer Industries Adjustable Aluminum Office/Task Chair
A nice old Cramer Industries task chair made of aluminum. Vinyl, cloth and sheet metal, all in relatively nice condition. The seat is adjustable from 16 3/4" to 20" off of the floor and the back rest is also adjustable both up& down and forward& back. The aluminum has some wear scuffs, the paint on the back of the backrest has some scratches and the cloth on the backrest has some slight fading to the color,but really in pretty good condition. The base measures 16 1/4" x 16 1/4" To cut down on the price of shipping, I will disassemble the backrest and the seat from the base(easy to put together) Shipping includes tracking.
