Was the descendant of the renowned Heintz Arts Metal Shops produced lighting, desk accessories, vases and other forms in solid bronze under what was called the"Silvercrest" line. The work of the Heintz Art Metal Shops as well as that of the Smith Metal Arts Company are highly sought after by collectors. Arts and Crafts Smith Metal Arts Lamps are uncommon, to say the least. This one is circa 1919, and is just exquisite in condition, form and construction. Raised bronze decorative designs highlight the shade, as does the beaded bronze banding at the shades edge. Similar beautiful raised accents encircle the pen holders at the base. Solid bronze main shaft truncates with a superb curl at its crest. I purchased this many years ago for ... moremy own collection because of the beauty and intricacy of the form as well as the heavy and superb construction quality. And then proceeded to invest a well-spent but considerable sum having it completely restored by the now renowned and collected Michael Adams of Aurora Studios. Michael is a present day craftsman working in hammered copper. his work, especially including his patinas is considered to rival that of Dirk Van Erp and is already being collected in his lifetime. This has had the patina completely redone by Michael, and has been entirely rewired with reproduction silk wrapped cord. the reflective pearlized paint to the interior of the shade was also restored by Adams. The exquisite pens and pen holders are period NOS(new old stock) replacements that match the lamp perfectly(took me a long time and a lot of searching to find those) And have never even been filled with ink. Reflective gilt bands deep within the bakelite pens encircle their barrels, and with their 14K gold tips are just beautiful. Built-in pen tray, original switch, tilt-adjustable shade. exquisite. Chair has great looking wood slats, with metal supports on both sides that adjust. Seat is 17" x 18" and is 18" Off the floor. Desk has large metal pulls and a metal bolt head on all drawer corners. Both pieces in nice condition. Desk top shows some wear around edges. Metal is structurally very good, has some minor nicks and scratches from normal use. There are no locks in top drawers. Up for sale is this gorgeous Clark and Gibby desk chair! The chair is in great condition. With a few spots of wear to the leather but it's still soft and useable. There are several scratches on the leather(see photos) though they are superficial and do not go all the way through. The wood looks great, as do the original gears! This chair is a bit smaller than most antique desk chairs. It stands 31.5" tall to the top of the back. The back rest is 15.5" wide, and the seat is 17.5" wide. This desk needs some tender loving and some restoration to bring back it's former glory, but it is still an eye catcher, and you can tell the quality of workmanship that went into this desk that you just don't see any more. It has chips and nicks and scrapes all over it. But this is a solid desk built like a tank and heavy like a tank too. It takes 4 men to move it. The glass sheet on top is stuck to it, you'll have to gently pry it off to remove it. DIMENSIONS: 66" wide x 30" tall x 30" deep. What a wonderful restoration project this would be for you. It is made of rolled steel and rests on a nickel plated base that measures 3 1/8" x 7 7/16. It is an eight-day wind-up clock in working condition and with minor discoloration and age wear. It has"Eight Day Works" 8 Tag Werk" stamped on the back above the fast-slow adjuster. The clock was working when we obtained it. But we have not been able to judge its accuracy. It does not come with a key. On the base of the clock is an inscription that reads(in German. So we translate) Ohle[Germany] Ironworks/Theob. Pfeiffer, Ohle[Germany] On the back of the clock is a dedication that reads: Manufactured from the stamped sheet metal ... moreof Ohle[Germany] Theobald Pfeiffer was the owner and developer of the Ohle Ironworks. He was much admired for his business sense. In 1920 the town of Ohle and the Ironworks had a huge celebration in honor of Pfeiffer's success in building the factory. Despite great odds. Vintage Metal Replica Transmission Clock& Desk Set. GM Hydra-Matic 4T60-E? VGC Yet another rare and quirky automobilia piece up for grabs-this one destined for the desk of someone presently or formerly in the transmission business. I've had this piece for quite a while. Hoping that I'd eventually be able to identify the transmission in question. I recently went through some old books and happened to glance at a service manual for the GM 4T60-E and the light bulb went off. It seems to bear a pretty close resemblance to this transmission or could be one in the same product family. Feel free to correct me and I'll update the ad. The piece is marked"518" on the top, but I don't think this is an identifier, as it ties to a Mopar unit that looks nothing like this. As you can probably tell from the photos, this was ... moreinitially awarded to someone, likely a key player in the development or production of the unit. The plaque was removed when I acquired it, so I'll never know-if I had the other info on it, I wouldn't have had to rely on luck. The base appears to be solid walnut and is approx. 11 x 7-3/4 x 1-1/2" Pen base is chrome plated and ready for the writing instrument of your choice. It can be angled and positioned to your preference. But snaps into a default/detent position. The clock is quartz and driven by a single"N" type battery, which is included. It is in working order and keeping excellent time. Bonus-it was made in the USA. I can't even recall the last time I saw a quartz clock made in the US. This sort of helps substantiate that the piece is at least a couple decades old, which would tend to line up with this transmission's development and production run. I actually would have guessed late 70s or early 80s based on the clock alone and my experience in this arena. There are two full-color photos on each side. Each photo has small black print underneath. One side has a boat in a waterway and reads: Boppard Am Rhein. It also has a waterway with a large building on a cliff and reads: Burg Rheinfels. The opposite side has another boat near a cliff and reads: Die Loreley. It also has a street full of vendors and reads: Rudesheim-Drosselgasse. The entire top circle rotates and with each rotation. The date changes. It starts with"Turn Top Toward Yourself, then reads"Change Month, then it reads"Turn Slowly, and then it begins with the dates. The numbers go from 1- 31. The bottom is chrome-colored and has two ... moredials. One is for the month and one for the day of the week. Because this is from Germany. It uses German abbreviations. Here is a vintage boy scribe pen holder constructed of spelter or mixed metal. The boy child is holding a tablet and sitting on a bronze tone pedestal. The pen holder part is made of a plastic material with a brass base, it is black with a gold band around the top. This statuette measures 5" height, 3" across, and 4 3/4" if measured front to back. Note: The pen is missing from the holder. There is some rubbing off of the gilt from the head and hair. Also a spot on his right shoulder; also the pen holder is not bolted down and does come out of the hole, I am not sure if it was attached to something beforehand or not. There is a round piece of black felt on the bottom but it has come loose and is pushed into the inside. Otherwise the bronze statuette pen holder is in very good condition for its age.
