American Brass KLEEMAN 1870 Student Desk Oil Lamp/Milk Glass Shade-Converted
Up for consideration is this antique C.A. Kleeman& C.F.A. Hinrichs New York kerosene brass student desk lamp. This lamp has been electrified over the years and appears to have been done in a way that could easily be converted back to original without issue. However, I am not certain. It is in overall very good/strong antique condition and I believe will restore nicely. I believe that the milk glass shade is original however I cannot verify if correct or original. The shade does have some small rim nicks here and there from use where it sits on the shade ring. I do not have the chimney that would have also been with this lamp. I see no dents in the brass. The fuel tank appears original and without issue and has the pin on the bottom. This piece does move if you push the pin up and down, not sure if this is correct or if you pull the pin ... moredown to secure? Height adjustment knob turns( a little hard) but does work and lamp slides up an down. Shade ring or arm(not sure which) appears slightly tilted so I put a level on the ring to show you. I do not want to try to adjust or bend at all, I will leave that decision to the new owner. As you can see the brass needs to be cleaned, bottom of lamp is covered in green felt. Vintage Pair Of Ship's Wheel Wood & Glass Small Desk Lamps Both Work No Shades
This auction is for a pair of ship's wheel desk or nightstand lamps. The bases and spindls appear to be made of maple but stained cherry. There is a hobnail glass cleft halfway up each lamp. Most of the metal separating the wood and glass is brass. There are no lampshades with these lamps. Without a light bulb. They stand 9 inches tall. The base measures 6 inches across from end of one hand grip to another. Both lamps work, but the cords are the old cloth covered rubber cords, and they're both decaying. I would suggest replacing them if you're planning on using them over a long period of time. Please see the pics above. Payment must be received within 2 days after the auction ends. I found these at a thrift store. I thought they were so cute and different that someone might enjoy them. I don't see any makers marks but there is one I saw on ebay that looks like it is from the same set that is marked Germany. They look like they were part of a desk set. The heads move and come off. See 10th pic. The larger piece is 11 1/2" by 8" the smaller one is 9" by 4" There is what looks like ink stain in one of the round wells. There is a split in the wood of the large piece, see 9th pic. The top has a beveled mirror and a shelf for decorative or practical items. Up for auction is this Rare Vintage Antique Ansonia Calendar clock with Blue Glass Inkwells desk set. Selling as is. For Parts or Repair- it's in Fair cosmetic condition& displays well but does have some condition issues. The Ansonia Wind-up Calendar clock is not working, overwound, loose glass, Nice dial, missing top finial that would have attached it to the ring on desk set, also missing knobs on the back. All the glass pieces have some damage, the center Obelisk has a chip at the top& is missing the little Thermometer. The one Bluebird inkwell has major damage& is missing the brass hinge ring. The other one has 2 minor chips at the base, good hinge. Nice Bumble bee& Butterfly figure design on the spelter metal carriage, one piece of scroll work needs repaired.
