Beautiful Solid Wood Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Rolling Desk Chair with Arms This is a Solid Quarter Sawn Oak Rolling Desk Chair. It has a metal pedestal base that can adjust up and down with a metal adjustment wheel. And four spindle legs with wheels. The metal components have been painted black. The wheels have been replaced at some point in its life(see photos) It has solid oak arms, a wide solid wood seat, and a tall spindled back, with a solid quarter sawn oak top. The chair has had one repair to one of the legs. As visible in photos, which has held for all of the 10 years that I have owned it, and it has had a tremendous amount of use in that time. Found in an Estate sale in Eagle Rock, CA. it has been kept in as found condition. The wood has been kept in good condition with Howard's wax with orange oil. There is one very small scratch on the sea t but is otherwise excellent The upholstery on the back o f one arm has come unglued a bit and just needs a very qu ick fix with some glue. Vintage late 1960's Sligh Desk w/ Matching Chair leather top w/ glass
Vintage Sligh desk is from the late 1960's. Most of that time. It has been gently used in an adult only, non pet, non smoker house. Top measures roughly 23" x 46" There is minor surface damage on the wood from normal wear. The chair shows the most surface damage. It looks like maybe the legs were hitting something on one side(maybe a PC kept on the floor) Additionally, it looks like a belt or something kept in a pocket might have repeatedly rubbed against the back of the chair on the other side of the leg damage, above the seat. The chair has been owned as long as the desk, so I'm guessing they may be a matched pair- something I haven't seen much on ebay. There is no manufacturers label on the chair. Vintage Mid 20th Century Desk Chair I am not certain of the exact age or origin of this chair. But it appears to be mid 20th century, probably post World War II. I am suspecting 50s or 60s, but I am no expert on vintage furniture provenance(Antiques Roadshow lingo again. could be older. It is solid wood construction with a laminated desk top on wood. The steel hardware and wood fittings are all in good shape and the chair is tight and serviceable. Its original finish shows obvious signs of wear and regular use and was probably actually in a public school environment in its day. There is still some gum residue(though any actual gum"wads" have long since been removed) under the seat and table! The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

This is a Arne Jacobsen style desk and seven chair. The desk is in excellent vintage condition. It is finished on the back. It has classic Danish long peg legs. The Formica top has a nice boat shape rather than traditional rectangle. It is apartment or student size. This is part of a series of painted furniture that I do with my soon to be 86 year old Dad. He enjoys keeping busy and feeling useful. I do procurement and creative design and he runs the shop. The drawers had some scratches so we decided to paint them I had a seven style chair and so we matched the two pieces through the same paint color. The desk and chair we not an original set. We chose yellow because the seven chair was produced in yellow. The desk and chair were sanded. Primed/sealed, and given three coats of"Fuzzy Navel" by Valspar in a gloss enamel.
