ALL OFFERS CONSIDERED Asking price reduced from $8990 This very unusual Post Modern Desk was Hand Made in 1991. The large work surface allows the desk to become a mini conference table. The Paisley Shape of the desk is very ergonomic and the round end with pedestal base makes it easy to gather several chairs together. The round end is 48" in diameter and the overall length of the desk is 108" For best photo resolution. Click on the main photo to open the gallery. The desk is comprised of four distinct elements: 1) The Work Surface was the driving force in the design process. Function dictated the shape. Removing the four sides that are typical of a desk makes the desk a more friendly and less intimidating place to sit with clients. The 48" round end allows the desk to be used as a small conference table. The finish on the top ... morerequired approximately 120 hours. In summery. The design was carved into the surface and then gold leaf was applied. This was followed by an antiquing process, an application of candy apple red lacquer and multiple clear coats until the surface was flat and had a water wet gloss. Today, the high gloss has become semi-gloss due to normal use but could be restored to a full gloss with a fresh clear coat if desired. Periodic coats of car wax keep it protected and looking good. 2) The modesty panel is 1/4" thick plate aluminum with a carefully planned pattern hand ground into the surface using techniques the maker learned while apprenticing as a goldsmith for a well known designer jeweler. The modesty panel took a full week to make. It is essential to the structural integrity of the desk. 3) The pedestal is finished with high gloss laminate and is heavily weighted for stability. 4) The four drawer pedestal is a free form shape that that matches the end of the desk perfectly. This was achieved by building a mold that was used to form a shell made of six layers of three ply wood(18 plys total) The shell was then finished with Breawood Rosewood. Our friend was a Colonel in the army and had this custom made sometime in the 1970s. All the carvings were hand carved. No power tools were used. The drawers have dividers in them for easy storage. Please note there are more notches for the dividers than there are dividers and it is supposed to be that way. It is a used desk. But has been kept in very good condition. The top was refinished a few years ago. There are no major scratches or gouges, just some light surface scratches(see pic) There is a marble slab on the top for a writing surface. The right side is a 3-drawer pedestal. The"floating" desktop measures 84 inches long and 36 inches wide and has a height of 29.5 inches. The attached privacy screen is in excellent condition. The desk is marked on two of the drawer ... morehandles with the Herman Miller name and logo, and has labels inside of two drawers that designate it as a George Nelson design. All of the drawers open and close smoothly and can be locked. There are 3 keys for the 2 locks. There are some small scratches, drill holes, tiny areas of veneer loss, an area of white paint, and areas of light fading. Holes were drilled into the top front of each pedestal to install plastic brackets to hold electric cords and two holes were drilled into the bottom of each pedestal. Overall this Herman Miller/George Nelson walnut desk is in very good vintage condition. See Photos) This desk easily disassembles for transport. The top can be removed with 6 bolts and the two pedestals are attached to the modesty screen with a few screws. Acquired at Berg Brothers in London at the Furniture Fair in 1999 for a communications executive in New York where it lived until 2010 before relocating to Seattle. This same desk was offered on auction at the Los Angeles Modern Auction in 2009. Listed at $6,000-$8,000. It is Mahogany with a floating plate glass top sitting on gilded metal supports. Rare South Bend Fish and Feel Fit Bass-Oreno Desk Weight for Salesman/Executive
Rare and incredibly hard to find South Bend desk or paper weight made for a South Bend Salesman or Executive. I have only seen two of these in my 20+ years of collecting. This has a Fish and Feel Fit heavy metal base with a Bass-Oreno attached to it on the top. This was one made for F. B. Evensen. On the bottom it is marked with the maker. A.C. Rehberger Co. 2134 N. Magnolia, Chicago, IL, 60614, 312) 929-5300. A really neat advertising piece for the South Bend or Bass-Oreno collector. This dates to the very late 1930's is my best guess based on the style of the Bass-Oreno used on the display. This is a Danish mid 19th century drop leaf executive desk. It is in o.k. condition with a lot of dings and scratches. Rhone Poulenc walnut wood case pen calculator post it set desk office executive
Rhone-Poulenc desk set in a beautifully finished 100% walnut box. Has label on bottom that reads"Alcraft asi 33910" Genuine American Walnut. When you open the box you can see the solar powered calculator. Post it pad and pen. All are in specially hollowed out spaces in the box. The calculator spot is lined with green felt as is the inside top of the front cover. Rhone-Poulenc emblem proudly displayed on the top cover. There is a small scratch under this emblem and one more to the left of it. Both are visible in my photos. I do not believe this set has ever been used. However the pen does not write. The ink appears to have dried out. The pen works mechanically but an ink cartridge will need to be purchased and installed. The walnut case is 7" x 6" and is 2" deep. The calculator is approx. 4" x 3"

It's hard to find descriptive words when you buy and sell cool stuff. So here is for a words sake. A massive double cylinder executives desk. Awesome desk with the cabinet modesty panel in the center of bottom section, all original hardware on the drawer bottom and on the full interior section. It has killer burl walnut panels on the surfaces and the back is paneled out so it could be set in the middle of the room and be beautiful. The condition is stellar and we have cleaned it and it retains it's original finish. It is very large and the writing surface pulls out for a large work area. Wonderful fitted interior with gothic arches and drawers. Comes apart in 2 large sections and measures as a total 64" wide x 34" deep x 56" tall. Custom Executive Desk and Credenza Burlwood and Solid Hardwood Houston Area
This desk and matching credenza were custom made for the CEO of Sambo's Restaurants. Sam Battistone, who was also the original owner of the New Orleans Jazz. My husband bought Sambo's distribution center and test kitchen buildings in Carpinteria, California in the late 1980's and this set was included in the purchase. He was told that the desk alone cost $22,000. Both pieces contain multiple inlaid types of solid wood and are very heavy. The tops of both are burlwood with additional burlwood panels on the sides and drawers of the desk. The center of the credenza retracts back into the cabinet and was made to hold a television. The desk top has been covered with glass and is in excellent condition, including the leather inlay piece in the center. The desk is 38" X 84" and features a curved section in the center that matches ... morethe center sliding doors on the credenza. The credenza is 9' X 2' X 36" high. These are very high quality one-of-a-kind pieces. The pictures show the front of the desk, the back of the desk, the credenza and the top of the desk with the leather inlay. I was not able to show adequately the detail in the wood with my camera. Also, the pieces are large and the space is somewhat cramped so they were hard to photograph. Any spots on the pictures are a result of my flash and are not on the furniture. The desk and credenza are in very good condition with only some minor sun fading on the credenza and one drawer on the desk needs some repair on the track below the drawer. The metal trim has some imperfections- it is loose in the corners in a couple of places and there is some minor denting or scuffing on the pieces near the floor. I have some additional pictures and could take more of any detail you would like to see. I am listing the shipping as local pick up only. We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Kittinger executive mahogany flat top desk that dates from the 1940s to 1950s. it is ... morea wonderful desk made by a fantastic furniture company Kittinger out of New York. Some of the great furniture we sell constantly of theirs is out of the Buffalo. NY warehouse back in the 1950s. this desk is really nice in the brownish mahogany stain with picture frame molded panels with carved rosettes on all four corners of the reverse curve picture frame molding. The desk is finished on the front and back. It comes with four drawers coming down the left hand bank and three drawers coming down the right hand bank with the two center drawers being joined to make a two drawer file cabinet drawer. The center has a large middle drawer and it is all dove tail. The fancy brass cast hardware is still intact. The side panels are also picture frame molded. It also has a big heavy French Ogee bracket foot. The top is surrounded with solid mahogany trim that goes around a gold tooled leather top that has a few minor scuffs and a couple of dings. Overall the leather is usable and very nice condition. It is bordered with a mahogany frame. The desk is in really good condition overall. It has minor wear.
