This auction is for a used vintage working Smith Corona SL 560"Spell-Right Dictionary" electronic portable typewriter. A label on the bottom is marked"model 5A-1. 120v, 60hz, amperes 0.7amperes, Made in Singapore" along with other information. It is made of hard plastic and measures about 16" wide x 14-1/2" deep x 5" tall and weighs nearly 12 pounds. It has a fold up carry handle on the bottom, a compartment in the back for the cord, and a removeable keypad cover. The cord is about 5ft long and plugs to a standard wall outlet. I do not know when this was made but I think it is vintage. This typewriter in good used working condition. I tested only by running the demo and it seems to work as intended. I am not familiar with typewriters. So it's nice to have one that can describe itself. I have shown pictures ... moreof the printed demo page which explains the features of the typewriter. The typewriter has a few scratches and scuffs, but it looks nice. The largest and most noticeable scuff is on the keypad cover. It originally had a clear label on the front explaining features and demo operation but it is missing. Press the"code" key and"z" key simultaneously to run the demo. There is no other damage. This is a nice looking typewriter that appears to work well. I will use packing inside the typewriter to protect the print head during shipment. That must be removed before using.
