old family desk that I have in storage for about 50 years. Might be 100 years old roughly or more. could be cleaned up to look better but better left alone if you do not know what you are doing when it comes to old wood and finish. Interesting design on the side of whole from shape of a card Spade. My grandfather got this from him parents. He was born in 1873 so I think it is pre 1900.

I have to offer a great Heywood Wakefield Student Desk M783. And Chair 551. They are being sold as a pair. One owner. Bought from J.B. Van Sciver Co. Desk has some minor scratching on the top. Also appears to have a small spot of fingernail polish, I did not try and remove this. Has orgional finish. Has one long drawer across the top that moves freely, two smaller drawers on the side, both move freely. Shelving on the side. Please note that there is some discoloration at the bottom back of this desk from being to close to the base board heater. It does not appear to be deep, but I am not a restoration professional. Here is a very rare chair in good condition. This is a 1876 patent. It's built in 1896. It has 2 zinc bolt heads with the patent date and the manufacturer. It has adjustable height. It swivels and tilts. have a certificate from the company from around 1977 authenticating the chair and I will get a photo on later. It's has been refinished back in 1975, it's tight and solid. It has the old tack holes around the frame from a leather cover which was not original. The seat part of the wicker is sagging a little bit. I have not put any body weight on this in a long time. I don't know if you can tighten the seat. This should be in a museum. It has a cast iron or steel subframe. This is carved mahogony and the upper is one solid piece about 10 foot long. 466k68-000 I have to collect tax in Illinois now so wait for the invoice. NO ... moreNEWBIES. Less than 10 good sales. HI. HERE IS AN ANTIQUE SCHOOL DESK AND CHAIR THAT WAS PROBABLY USED IN A ONE ROOM SCHOOL. IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT HAS A FEW FLAWS. THE DESK TOP IS WARPED AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE ONE PHOTO. IT ALSO HAS SEVERAL SCRATCHES INCLUDING THE YEAR 1968. THE SCRATCHES ARE NOT DEEP AND WOULD PROBABLY CLEAN UP WITH LITTLE EFFORT. THE DESK SIDES AND UPPER SEAT FRAMES ARE STEEL STAMPINGS AND THE BASES ARE CAST IRON. WHICH ARE TO BE ANCHORED TO A FLOOR OR PANEL. IT WAS ORIGINALLY BROWN AND HAS BEEN REPAINTED. This is a wonderfully tiny student school desk; almost to the point of being a miniature; no doubt intended for the very early grades. The height is 23" and is adjustable in the range of 20" to 28" The top measures 21" wide by 13" The seat is shown at 11" and is also adjustable. It is made by the Chandler Adjustable Chair and Desk Co, Boston Mass. The patent dates are 1893 and 1886. It has genuine cast iron legs(not stamped steel) which have been repainted black, the original color. The all-wooden desk portion and chair have been nicely refinished. It has the proper Bakelite No. 60 ink well. The legs and the chair base have felt pads to protect flooring. Antique Childs Desk & Chair Art Deco Ealy Century Maple 1900-1940 Secretary Desk
Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily, and taller if need be, but it gets a little wabbly after that, because it is only connecting with one cylinder. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

Maddox Desk from Hitchcock Chair Co., Essex, CT 1978
This is a Maddox Desk that I bought new in April 1978 from the Hitchcock Chair Company in Essex. CT. It has never been exposed to smoke, perfume, or scent of any sort. It has only been used to store my business cards and paperwork. It measures 39 inches high x 30-1/2 inches wide x 16 inches deep. I am moving and thought it would be better for someone to have this desk than for it to sit unused. I believe it is maple. Researching the company, they closed but have re-opened. I am not sure if Hitchcock made this desk, or if it was made for them by the Maddox company in Jamestown, NY. It looks just like one of their desks that I found photos of online. I cannot find any Hitchcock-made desk that looks like this one, so it may be a Maddox-made desk. The original invoice says 1 Maddox desk. It's circa 1950-1953. The original shelf board for the bookcase section is intact as pictured. The shelf can be adjusted to various heights and it looks as though the parts for that are in the side drawer as shown. The desk measures 44" long. 22" wide, and 30" high. The chair measures 15 1/2" long, 17" wide and 31 1/2" high. The only flaws we noticed were wear on the original chair upholstery and some scratches and use wear on the top of the desk- nothing that can't be fixed. Vintage All Steel Equipment Industrial Metal Office Swivel Desk Arm Chair, NICE!
For auction is one vintage. 1960s-era All Steel Equipment metal swivel chair in fantastic original condition. It is painted a silvery gray color and is upholstered in green vinyl. The upholstery is in perfect condition; not a stitch out of place and free rips, nicks or stains. There is one faint scratch on the back of the back pad, which you can see in the photos. The beautiful, curved base features black plastic protector plates on the ends, and the armrests are made of the same black plastic. The metal parts are free of dings and dents, and the paint is in excellent condition overall, though there are small scuffs and scratches common to use. Much less than one would expect on a chair this age, however. The majority of the scratches are confined to the area where the armrests attach to the backrest(see photos) All mechanical features function ... moreproperly. The entire chair has been thoroughly cleaned, polished and detailed, and the casters will be cleaned and re-lubricated prior to shipping. DIMENSIONS: Seat is 18" wide by 19" deep. Antique J S Ford Johnson Pressed Spindle Back Desk Chair Caned Bottom Pedestal VGC 100 yrs old. LOCAL PICK UP ONLY The metal adjustment pedestal has the name J.S. Ford Johnson Chicago on two of the pieces. JS Ford Johnson pedestal chair. Ford Johnson Company went out of business in 1913. This chair is at least 100 years old. It has a caned bottom. I replaced this 30+ years ago. It is still in good condition with no holes or broken pieces. Chair swivels and has an adjustment pedestal to lower and raise and adjust how far back you can lean. It has Bassick casters on it. I believe they are original to the chair. Everything on the chair is original but the seat. The chair was refinished about 45 to 50 years ago by my husband. It has some scuffed areas as you will see in the pictures. Some on the back as in picture 2. Near the head crown on the ... moreright as you look at the chair, and some on the legs near where the casters are. Overall look of chair is good. The scuffing does not detract. There is a 1 1/4" split where the right arm attaches to the back. just above and to the right of top screw) As you can see in picture 5 there is a screw holding part of the pedestal assembly to the chair bottom. I think the hole for this screw was too large to secure it from the bottom. So someone made a hole on the top and secured it that way. Although the chair was caned when we got it, I think it may have had a leather seat originally. I am not sure because I have tried to find a picture of this chair and haven't had any luck yet. I do know cane and rush was used by this company. They were quite well know for quality furniture as you will find if you search their name. There is a beautiful pressed in pattern of what seems to be the face of a king with a crown on it. Also there is scroll work and decorative trim. Spindles on arms and back. Chair works well.
