Vintage Pan American Tenor Sax Saxophone !NORESERVE!
This is a vintage Pan American Tenor Sax. The serial number is 139543 and this dates it to around 1939. The sax has been in storage for a little while so it will need some work and cleaned to be in good playing condition or you could use it for parts. It is sold as is for a fixerupper. Some of the pads look ok but I am not an expert so you will want to have them checked and replace them as needed. It may need a few adjustments. The pad cups. Keys and levers will need to be polished. There is some lacquer wear and scratches on the sax as you can see and it could use cleaning and polishing to make it look better. Otto Link Florida Vintage Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece "Marinated" .101 w/VIDEO
Here we have a very very nice vintage Otto Link piece for a player. This piece is a later Florida vintage with USA stamped on the shank and more baffle material than some earlier ones. I imagine this piece is from the late 1960's or early 1970's. I have restored this piece and set it up with a custom facing and special longer baffle. Similar to a reverse Early Babbitt"clamshell" model, with a slightly concave surface which provides a specific type of response that is a bit hard to describe. I have found this particular baffle shape, if it is high enough to provide brightness and power while also allowing great venting and a very open and present sound. Like I said, it is very hard to describe, but any decent player will feel it right away. The tip size is.101 and this piece should play well with anywhere from 2.5-3.5 reeds ... moreor harder if you have that habit. I usually play 2.5 and a harder one will work well on this piece. With this type of setup. We say goodbye to the"reed-picky" Otto Links and the fussy, stuffy vintage pieces. This is for the player who wants freedom to create and color his/her sound. This piece is wide open, clean and totally reliable all over the horn. That is the way I do them, to suit the demands of my own playing, weird as it may be. Vintage Yamaha YTS-52 Tenor Saxophone Unlaquered Brass
I am selling this horn to the fact that I don't play as much as I used to. This horn plays great and is in excellent condition. Everyone compliments the look of the sax on its vintage look. It blows smoothly and in tune through its full range and feels very nice under the fingers. This is an earlier model 52, before yamaha implemented the sway Bb spatula on them. All my friends who have played it LOVE this sax. One year ago, I had a complete overhaul on it, the repairman replaced all the felts, cork, and the pads. Earlier this year in February, I purchased a G1 neck, and had it customized to fit to this horn properly. I will provide both necks to the winner for your own comparison but, the G1 neck makes a substantial difference in the sound quality when compared to the original 52 neck. Up for sale is one of the rarest c-melody saxophone you will ever find: a Martin Handcraft Typewriter C-Melody Sax from 1931 in beautiful original lacquer Vintage Martin c-melody saxe s have by far the best tone o f all the brands available. Ergonomically. These horns are not as comfortab le as a mode rn horn. But the sound of a vintage Martin is simply out of this world. Martin c-melody is know n to be very"tenorish" Which is to say: t he sound has gravitas. M ellifluous. Brassy, brash, dulcet, warm, bluesy, lush sub-tones, screaming when you wish. Etc. T he limits of a Martin are the limits of your technique and imagination. Unfortunately. This horn needs a full overhaul and is not playable as i s. It has not been played on or worked on in many decades. Great news is that this ultra-rare sax is in very good physical condition ... moreand will make a tremendous player when given an overhaul. It is all original and even includes the original mouthpiece. T he tone holes look to be in very good condition. Besides a couple of very small s ur face dents in the b ell region. The horn is more or less dent-free and in great s hape. There is a little bi t of scratching and minor lacquer-wear in places. But overall in really nice shape for its age. S ome of the keys are"spongy" feeling when pressed. Which will be cured completely when the sax is taken a part and lubed wh en you have it overhauled. Do not expect the sax to be playable as is. It needs a full overhaul. As it has not been worked on in many. Many decades. Indeed, t he pads may very well be original. After being taken apart. Lubed up and given new pads. This will be a killer sax. Ne ck is original and the serial number on it ma tches the sax: 103 xxx Case is original and well preserved for its age. This is a very nice Buescher Aristocrat Series IV Tenor Saxophone. Serial number 385441. The horn has been overhauled with all pads replaced by a professional. However it has not been re-l acquered. See photo#8 for close up of pads. The horn has an amazing sound and you could enhance your preferences with a different mouthpiece. Mouthpiece shown comes with the auction. Along with two very old, unused reeds. There is normal wear for a used saxophone of this age. Along with scratches, scrapes and worn lacquer, but there is still a great deal of original lacquer and shine. There are no dents, but are a couple of small crimps or dings. The BG Ligature in the photos is included with the auction of this mouthpiece. It's a $45 value. The original sparkly blue bite plate was removed from the beak due to some flaking. But I will include three brand new free BG bite patches with purchase. There are some very light superficial scratches on the table and around the barrel. This mouthpiece was produced in October of 2000. So you won't find any info on Mr. Sugal's website about this mouthpiece. These older"JB" models are much slimmer than the current production model"Super Gonz"pieces. Gary Sugal doesn't even make silver plated mouthpieces anymore, so this piece is pretty rare. It plays great! It has a really bright tonal quality, but it's not shrill at all. It's really projects great and is very free blowing. It has"101" engraved ... morenext to the"JB" stamp, so I believe.101 is the tip opening. Though I'm not very sure. But I've tried a few different reeds on this piece, and the combination that felt the best was a Vandoren blue box 3 and a Vandoren Java red/green 3.5. As stated in the"condition description" portion. There are some very light superficial scratches around the barrel and on the table. This is the brass end plug that came with my 1950 Series III Buescher Aristocrat tenor sax. However. I've been told by members of the"Sax on the Web" forum that it did not originally come with this era Aristocrat and that it probably came from an even earlier Buescher such as a True Tone, 400 model, or earlier Aristocrat. I can't be certain what it came with originally, but it does fit my Buescher Aristocrat. So, I think it's safe to say that it could fit any number of different vintage Buescher models or even other tenor saxophone brands/models. The pictures pretty much show it all. This extra brass neck screw was included with my 1950 Buescher Aristocrat Series III tenor sax. It fits the Buescher well and would likely fit many other brands. I cannot guarantee that it will fit your sax. But this seems like a fairly universal screw and for this price, you don't have much to lose. The screw is nice and straight with most of the original lacquer.

OBTAINED FROM A PRIVATE ESTATE IN PITTSBURGH PA. BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE. This is an amazing antique with an equally interesting history. This is a very early 20th century, aprox. 1913/1915) EVETTE& SCHAEFFER, BUFFET CRAMPON, Tenor, Gold Plated Saxophone" This wonderful antique has been in one family since it was originally purchased. The Grandfather of the family, Nicholas Anthony Testa Sr. was a conductor and band member, serving as a corporal in the US. 28th division in WW1, stationed in France. He carried this and another saxophone with him to entertain the troops with his companies Army band. While at war. He continued his band throughout the early 1940's era upon return from WW1. His heirs discovered this instrument carefully stored in the old homestead had it professionally restored. I purchased a soprano saxophone ... morefrom the family and was so impressed with its quality that I made an offer and purchased this tenor saxophone as well. I took it to a saxophone repair specialist. Dennis Lawson, who was completely taken by the instrument. He spent over three hours setting it up with new springs, setting the steel resonator pads, adding bushings where needed and playing it. He told me that in his 48 years of instrument restoration he had never seen anything like it. He was so impressed by the instrument that only charged me for the parts and 20 minutes of the three hours labor he put into the sax. He told me that he believed the saxophone was made in 1913-15, that it plays beautifully, and that it has mechanical features not thought to have been invented until much later. He told me that it has a bright, mellow tone that is only available in a hand made instrument such as this. He believes that the hole frames were silver soldered in place and told me that he lamped it and found no leaks. Completely unique Martin Handcraft sax, this example dates to the very beginning of Martin Handcraft's manufacturing. They very much had this one right, the horn is astounding, both aesthetically, ergonomically, and sonically. I would argue that Al McLean is the best sax tech that there is. With all due respect to the other members of the creme-de-la-creme repair club. Al has carefully overhauled this instrument, giving it a thorough dynamic play test(or three) and making all of the fine adjustments it deserves. The horn now sports modern firm pads, traditional flat resonators, and other effective materials like wool felt, natural cork, and modern composite cork where needed. The end result is a horn that is so finely adjusted. That it rings like a bell when you snap the pads closed. Cosmetic condition is rated as Excellent+, with some minor nicks and signs of handling. Early Tenor Saxophone Sax by H.N. White King Cleveland ToneKing Mouthpiece WOW
I had this item listed previously but had to cancel as the listing was unclear. What is included is everything that is pictured. For auction we have a silver plate King Tenor Saxophone the body is 29 inches long and there are no dents but it could use some polishing. Serial number is 101XXX which dates it to around 1926 near as I can tell. Removable mouthpiece holder has the same serial number. I don't play so I really can't give you much of a description of the sound. The previous owner had it overhauled about 10 years ago and pretty much left it in the closet. This lovely vintage horn came out of an estate here in Hollywood recently S/N is 119956 It's a gold finish with(I'm told) not too much wear for it;s age. I'm not an expert or a player so i won;t pretend to be-but i can say that i did hear someone play it and it sounded pretty sweet. i was told that the pads looked surprisingly good though i don;t know what that means exactly- I was also told that these old ones always need some reconditioning so hopefully if you are looking at this you know about all that stuff. The case is a bit rough but still solid and the latches and handle both are all great so i guess that's what counts. see the pics and ask if you want. I'm just happy to have saved it from the dumpster and to be sending it back to make more music! thanks

Yamaha Tenor Saxophone Sax YTS-82ZU Unlaquered
This sax is a killer player! This unlaquered 82Z tenor saxophone is ready to play. It has a powerful tone and great response! It is one mighty tenor with guts! There is one dent on the bell. Which is clearly shown in the picture#3. This dent is not through the bell metal and does not impact the sound at all, just reduces the price I am listing it at! This horn was dented when it fell off the instrument holder. I took it to a reputable repair shot for all key fixes, which turned out to be minor. I did not bother having the bell fixed due to no impact on sound and repair cost. The pads are also in good shape too. I replaced the upper E flat pad. And that is it. The instrument is about 8 years old. I have put cork on the palm keys for ease of use. This is a necessity if you have big hands. If your hands are smaller, you can always sand these ... moredown. This instrument does not come with a mouthpiece, as you probably have a favorite to use. The G1 neck provided excellent intonation for me. This tenor comes in the original Yamaha case. Selmer Mark VII Tenor Saxophone Early Ser# 260.258 80-85% Orig Lac. This horn is in VG condition plays great and has a really nice sound It has a couple small dings and dents from player wear but nothing else on the body. The Original neck marked Mark 7 does show evidence of a pull down it has been repaired and the horn plays great so it doesn't seem to effect the playablity at all but the body tube on the neck is a little out of round so please bid accordingly. It comes in the orignal case which is a little rough around the edges on the outside but still very solid with extra latches and the inside is very nice. I will be selling several horns for a collector and good friends wife They are all in VG- EX condition. I would like to keep them all for my retail shop but she needs to clean up the estate so look for more of these horns over ... morethe next few weeks.
