This hard to find Bird ThruLine Model 4430 RF Directional milli-Wattmeter uses standard Bird 43 elements. The Model 4430 has a fixed sampler port on the right side of the housing near the top edge. The port has a fixed sample attenuation of-43dB from the signal being measured by the wattmeter. The sample is accessed by the BNC connector on the side which supplies the greatly reduced sample signal for use by an oscilloscope. Spectrum analyzer, frequency counter, etc. The 4430 has been discontinued and replaced by the 4431 which is basically the same unit except that the 4431 has a non calibrated adjustable sample level control on the front of the wattmeter. Vintage 100 - 155 MHz RF Signal Generator Works! Antique!
One of those odd things I picked up in my travels thinking"this might be good for parts some day" Well. I finally got around to cleaning up the shop And here it is. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it seems to work! Powered up, an using a modern frequency counter, it actually spits out the indicated frequencies(well, OK, it's a bit off on the dial) No forther testing has been done. There is NO back for this, and it doesn't appear that one had ever been mounted(no screw holes on the back anywhere) The cabinet is wood( the front panel is metal, and the deluxe vintage masking tape function labels are included at no additional charge. What you see is what you get. no returns, no warranty, no promises. Heavy little bugger, too. Glad to ship overseas just be sure you note shipping cost before you bid! Paypal please.
