Up for grabs is a Starguide III commercial broadcast satalitte receiver used by a lot of stations for receiving their daily programming. For those not familier with this unit it has signal.Sync,standby,fault and power LEDs on the front panel. Also it has the programming keyboard and an LCD readout panel. On the back it has a power(100 to 240 VAC. 50 to 60hz) input,alarm relay, L" band input, LNB voltage on/off switch, an"m&c" portn two audio cards and a relay control card. The only problem with it is that the internal fan is noisy. As shown in the picture. The"fault" light is lit as there is no signal applied to the"L" band F connector. This sale is for a JRC NRD-525 receiver in great cosmetic condition. It is not perfect. But it is above average and should be attractive to a buyer who is looking for a receiver in such cosmetic condition. The front panel looks nearly as perfect and the covers, which typically are scratched, are in outstanding condition. Thus, you can opt to replace this battery or merely push the clear button upon powering on the receiver. Here we have a very nice Pioneer SX-850 receiver. This unit was DOA when I got it. I have done a complete overhaul on this unit and now plays like new. I have painstakingly changed all electrolytic capac itors and transistors on every PC board in this unit except for the tuner board. Any pro technician will tell you if the tuner works leave it alone. I have also changed out a few key problematic diodes in the power supply. I have also replaced the main filter capacitors to modern more reliable versions. Mechanically this receiver is like or better than new. And it should bring many more years of listening pleasure to it’s new owner. As you can see, and as you will hear, it sounds like a blast from the past. I have hand cleaned every PC board in this unit, I have re-soldered any suspect cold solders. I have cleaned and lubed all switches and ... morepots with DeOxit and Faderlube for perfect pinpoint controls. I have replaced the dial lamps with new OEM Pioneer lamps, every lamp in this receiver works as it should. I have also set the voltages for the power supply, forward bias, and dc offset to factory specifications. The faceplate and all the knobs were removed and cleaned in a combination of warm water and mild soap. The faceplate is very attractive and would look fantastic in any room of your home. I polished each knob and the faceplate with Blue Magic metal cleaner.looks great and shines very brilliantly. The wooden case is very nice, there are a few minor imperfections here and there but I have sanded, stained, and put 3 coats of Danish Oil on it, and it is very presentable. I have also removed. Sanded, and repainted the mesh metal grille attached to the wooden casing, looks like brand new. The pictures speak for themselves. This receiver pushes out 65 old school watts per channel and that is an understatement. This sounds more like a 100-120 watt receiver. This will blow the doors of anything produced today. Functions, controls, connections, inputs and outputs work as they should. The tuner signal strength meter is lively and accurate. The tuner has very good signal pulling capacity. Physical condition is mixed. The metal cabinet is outstanding. The interior is very clean. The tuner glass is excellent. The flaws are unfortunately more on the metal faceplate than elsewhere. There is wear along the top edge and also the top edge of the slight ledge along the bottom of the face plate. The aluminum itself is somewhat splotchy. The whitish panel along the bottom and top edge have some discoloration that can't be removed. Everything is included except a subscription to Siriusxm.com. When I uninstalled from vehicle I accidentally cut the antennae wire, so a splice is needed.
