John Deere MX8 Rotary Mower Description: STEAL. This brush hog is overall in very nice physical condition. But 2 spindles are missing. Both the center and left spindle shafts, blade mounts, etc. are out of the tractor and I do not have them here. The housings are all there(as you can see, but the shafts appear to be gone. Otherwise, things look OK- the gearboxes all turn as they should and make no noise or show any obvious problems! The chains, etc. are all in functioning condition as are the PTO shafts and the attaching mechanism. We removed the wheels to make it easier to move around, but everything you see pictured is included. This is a huge brush hog and you need a big tractor to use it- Deere recommends a minimum of 40 HP and a Category 2 hitch to hook it up. I'd go bigger. Personally. Two (2) 5' Brush Hog type rotary mowers 3 point hitch NO RESERVE
You are bidding on two(2) 5' Brush Hog type rotary mowers for a standard three point hitch. These machines are being auctioned AS IS. I cannot tell you what make either of these mowers are as I bought them both used and neither of them have any identifying marks. The yellow one MAY be a John Deere as it is that style but I can't sat for sure. The blue mower is the more heavy-duty of the pair. I used it to cut everything from grass to small trees. It is missing the hardware(stud and nut.available most anywhere) to attach one of the blades(I do have the blade) The yellow machine is of a lighter-duty construction. I used it to cut grass and light brush. It has several cracks in the deck that need to be welded. It also has a spring loaded clutch type thing where the shaft connects to the gearbox which prevents the tractor from stalling ... moreif you were to wack a big rock or something. Other than what I've mentioned both mowers are in good mechanical order; gearbox ok. Shaft ok, etc. I wish I had more pics but I do not. I operated both these machines with a Massey Ferguson 65, Massey Ferguson TO35, and a Massey Harris 22. No problems. John Deere splitter-divider gear box part# DE19186 off of a CX15 batwing rotary cutter. Gear box had very little run time. According to jdparts.com it will also fit the HX15. HX20, CX20 540 rpm units. This came off of an early unit so check your machine, numbers, etc. before bidding. The gear box had two casting bubbles in the casing that were causing a leak that have been welded and repaired. The gear box is in good working order and will be shipped with out oil. I have pictured the welded repairs and pictured the gears, all parts are in good condition and ready to put to work. I do not have the dipstick. Gear box is complete and ready to use. I just used it the other day; it cuts great as you can see in the picture. It has a laminated rear tire so you never have to worry about flats. Heavy duty slip clutch instead of shear pins to keep you going even while cutting thick stuff. PTO shaft is adjustable in and out for larger or small tractors. BUSH HOG ATH-900 90" Finish Rotary Mower
BUSH HOG ATH-900 FINISH MOWER I purchased this 90” three fixed blade mower in 2006. As a portion of several implements that came with the purchase of a used utility tractor. As I had no immediate need for this mower. I have stored it undercover in my dry machinery shed. I knew the previous owner. And this mower had always been stored under cover since new. The previous owner stated it was used for three seasons. Mowing a 9 acre“front yard” field. The mower has approximately 125 hours of use. And looks in super condition. Now to the bad part… I finally decided I would likely never use this mower. And took it out to prepare it for sale. Upon hooking it up. I discovered it is somehow“locked up” Both outer spindles and both idler pulleys turn freely. However. The center blade will not turn. The PTO shaft turns. But does not transfer power to ... morethe main pulley. I have to assume the vertical shaft(pinion shaft) is broken. And/or the bearing frozen on the center blade. Mower is being sold as is. The pictures show the very good condition. It is Cat I. Three point hitch. PTO shaft does not appear to have been shortened. Drive belt is like new. Blades look to have been sharpened two or three times. Air baffles underneath are not bent. The outer deck has two minor bends- shown in the pics. The mower deck itself is straight and true. And has no welds or rust. I’m confident the unit can be repaired. But cannot guarantee cost or time. I think there could be a good buy for someone handy looking for this type of mower…but not willing to pay the $4500 for a new one. Mower includes the original Operator’s Manual and two spare wheels.
