I listed this reduction unit as used. But I honestly believe it has never been used? The input and output shafts still have tape fragments around that held the keys in their slots, it still had Cosmoline paper wrapped around the output shaft, and is still bolted to a 4 x 4 on 2 of the mounting holes, looks like the other 4 x 4 was rotted away? and the bolts that went through it are still in place. The input shaft turns smoothly. I bought this unit from a US Govt. facility and something has broken some of the external piping( see photos) maybe during the time it was warehoused? Input shaft is 2 1/2" OD, and output shaft is 4" OD, heat exchanger still has factory installed plastic plugs in place. I have a few more photos I can email to you if you are interested. Falk 100Y1 3.361 Gear Reducer. Gear Box. gearbox. speed reducer. gear reducer. You can order a new one for about 4 times the price of this unit. And wait 3 months. With Inpro bearing isolators. Ratings below. Many gearing professionals consider this style of gear box to be the finest ever designed. A parallel gear box made with the durable American Standard. All newer versions of the parallel gear reducer are now using the less expensive European standard which will run a few years. But rarely a lifetime. They have a shorter bearing life. The bores in those cast housings are hard to repair and they are subject to crack and break. Cheaper up front, but more expensive long term. many times you cannot repair the housings. The gearing is much harder. The problem with this is that when you have a problem, the gearing starts coming apart quickly, ... moreso catastrophic failures are becoming much more common. If it was my plant. My machine, my money, I would invest in a Y-unit and get it rebuilt. It is well worth it, even if it cost more money. It will continue to take a beating, long after all the others are broken. Welded steel housings. You can repair the bores with a weld and bore, or a deck and bore. Precision gearing, but the gearing is not so hard that it starts cracking right away. If you realize you have a gearing problem, you can usually patch the gear box with new bearings and order a new gear set. It will usually last until the spare gear set comes in. If you cannot find the ratio you need. You can always just buy a housing and order new gears from the manufacturer or have them made at a"quality" gear cutter.

The input shaft is 1 1/8" diameter 5/8" long, the double output shafts are 1 3/4" diameter 3 1/2" long. The flange mount for the motor will mount to a 182TC or 184TC face mount motor.
