Delta 83-653 3hp single phase tablesaw motor
I bought my 3hp Delta. Unisaw 11 years ago. After about 25 hours of use the motor would intermittently stall on start up. After 2-3 calls with Delta Technical Support. They sent me a new motor. This original motor sat on a shelf in my basement since then. I wanted to do some spring cleaning but couldn't bring myself to throw it away so I found a repair shop about 30 miles away and took it in to be evaluated. They took it apart, cleaned the internal starter contacts, removed some debris and bench tested it numerous times with no issues. A replacement motor from toolpartsdirect.com lists for $785.75 so I hope this one can save someone some money. The shipping is a little pricey because it alone weighs 45 lbs. This is a good used motor. I left it running all night in the garage(not under load) It is fairly quiet and did not heat up very much at all. It is a Century AC Motor. By AO Smith and is typically used for Air Compressor applications, although you could use it for other applications as well. The electrical cover plate is missing, you will have to make one. I do not know how much it has been used. But, I will guarantee it for 30 days. That should give you time to get it hooked up, under load, and run it for awhile.
