Curtis DC Motor Controller 1221C 7401
This is a used Curtis DC Motor speed controller. Voltage: 72- 120 VDC. Amps: 400A. I used this for about 18 months on an electric vehicle that I converted myself. I have since gone with a smaller EV conversion and no longer need this large/powerful speed controller. Like all Curtis speed controllers it makes a 1kHz noise at low throttle(serves as an auditory indicator to pedestrians) At higher throttle. The noise goes away. I have had absolutely no problems with this controller. I has worked flawlessly since the first time I used it(over 12.000 miles driven on it) There are some gouges on the top of the chassis caused by fan screws in an early experiment in keeping this controller cool. Bare aluminum is exposed but there are no signs of corrosion. In its mounting.
