Vintage 1910 Singer sewing machine with Ace motor that runs strong. Foot pedal that works as does the light. I know very little about sewing so the pictures will describe the condition. I would think it needs to be re-corded. I plugged it in and the motor runs strong and turns machine. Machine and case show normal signs of wear for it's age. Dover Stamping became well known in the middle of the 19th century for their role in a U.S. Supreme Court Case in 1864. The Dover Stamping Oil Can is also marked on the side with"Kant Rust" and is a very early can. Also included is a very early swingspout style oil can/ can opener that is only marked"PAT. Offered this evening is an antique electric motor manufactured by Hamilton Beach during the late 1910's or early 1920's. This style electric motor was invented by F.J. Osius and patented on Sept 18. 1917. These motors were offered for sale with many intended uses.among them was sewing machines. Victrolas, fans, attaching to small lathes, grinding wheels and much more. They were also popular with watchmakers for polishing parts. Metal badge on the front reads: 17 Patent No. 1.240,802 Hamilton Beach Home Motor 115 Volts 70 Watts No. 2S 378494 B D.C. A.C. Up To 75 Cyc. Hamilton Beach Co. Racine, Wis Division Of Scovill Manufacturing Co. Made In U.S.A. The piece measures approximately 6" in length. 6" high and 4.5" ... moreacross. Up for auction is one older style hanging metal thermometer generally described as follows. Marked: PACKARD MOTOR CARS" ASK THE MAN WHO OWN'S ONE" MADE IN U.S.A. This thermometer is enamel painted on steel. Temperature increments from minus 30 degrees through Zero to 120 degrees fahrenheit. Measures: 27 inches in length by 8-1/8th inches wide and 3/4 inches"thick" The functioning thermometer is protected from damage. On the reverse, by a block of wood- The thermometer is intact.
