On one end is an HP rotary quadrature encoder. Type HEDS-5500 with 500 counts per revolution and fitting a 4mm shaft. It is mounted to an unknown type of motor, most likely a DC motor(there appear to be only two lines coming from the housing) The label on the motor is absent, but there is a part number engraved in the motor mounting flange- L 135223, and it states'Made in Germany' It is possible of course that is merely a serial number. Perhaps someone will recognize the manufacturer. Opposite the aluminum mounting flange is an HD Systems harmonic drive gear head. It has an output reduction ratio of 1:50. ... moreThe code label is exceedingly difficult to read. But it appears to be: HGUC- 11- 50- 1U- CC- SP. I am reasonably confident the first two letters are HG. Slightly less certain about the U- there is a slight possibility it could be an O. But I don't think so. The last letter is the most enigmatic- it too could be an O instead of a C. In any case this drive does not appear in the current catalog. Its hard to tell if this motor has ever been mounted or used, it has some scratches, but that may be from poor storage. Pittman 24VDC GearHead Motor. 100RPM. This motor is rated at 24VDC. I tested it at 12VDC and 24VDC. With polarity(+) to RED and( to BLK, rotation is CW looking at the shaft. Reversing polarity reverses rotation to CCW. At 12V. No-load speed is 50 rpm, no-load current is 0.15 amp. Stall current is 1.5 amp. Stall torque is 1.6 ft-lb. At 24V. No-load speed is 100 rpm, no-load current is 0.30 amp. Stall current is 3.0 amp. Stall torque is 3.0 ft-lb. These measurements are approximate. And were made without specialized equipment. The purpose is to give a general idea of the motor's performance. I have several of these motors, and this is typical of two I tested. I am sure that there will be some variation from motor to motor. Please don't expect these numbers to be exact. Output shaft is 1/4" With flat. Mounting holes are 10-32 thread.
