Up for sale is a 1/3 HP General Electric electric motor. This was pulled from a vacuum pump that was used occasionally over the last several years in the lab until the lab was refurbished. The motor is in excellent condition. With only a few cosmetic blemishes. The motor is reasonably quiet, with no whining or bearing noises. This motor was lightly used and would make an excellent replacement for a similar motor in a vacuum pump or an HVAC system. It could also be converted into a make-shift bench grinder if the user so desired. GE 203 frame electric motor-1954 South Bend
This electric motor is out of my 1954 South Bend 13" lathe. It was apart like pictured when I bought the lathe 4 months ago. I installed a new motor in the lathe but thought this motor might have some value to someone restoring an old South Bend lathe like mine. I believe all the parts are with it and it may be fixable. I took it to a motor rebuilder who said it probably is repairable but suggested I just buy a new model motor and maybe sell this one to someone who's looking for an original so that's what I'm doing. We replaced it with an AC motor and drive because we had a spare that we could use. We never tested the motor or ran it ourselves.
