GEOFF BODINE#15 This model car was made by RACING CHAMPIONS. This series in the small RED BOX was introduced in the early 1990's and were some of the first 1/24 scale racing diecast made. This is a black window bank(BWB) with a slot in what would be the rear window so that it functions as a piggy bank. There is a small door on the bottom of the car to get the coins out and a small key to open it. Interior space is very limited so to actually use as a bank. It will not hold a lot. This paint scheme was raced in the old NASCAR WINSTON CUP racing series. Model was released in approximately 1992-1994. Box is marked to be from an edition of 7500 MOTORCRAFT QUALITY PARTS is ... morefeatured on the hood as the primary sponsor. Car is 1/24 scale meaning that 1 inch on the model equals 24 inches on the actual race car so the model is approximately 8 +/ inches long. It comes in it's original box. Most of my cars have been displayed at least briefly although always in an enclosed glass front cabinet made for this type of item. SPECIAL RED BOX CAR NOTICE: If you are not already familiar with this series of collectible cars. PLEASE BE AWARE that these older original red box car banks were made in the early 1990's. Being some of the first made they are NOT anything like the slick highly detailed models made in more recent years. They have practically no moving parts. They have black plastic windows with no interior detail. Paint job is usually relatively plain with very basic colors and only limited detailing like the actual race cars of the time. Tires roll only straight(no steering) They were state of the art when they were made but appear very crude compared to modern scale model racing collectibles.
