I have tested this motor at 12 volts and then full wave rectified line voltage controlled by a Variac. It runs smooth. I will supply a schematic of the test variable speed setup. Motor shaft is diameter 5/8" and a length of 2" Overall motor length is approx 13" I dont know if it can be used as a generator on a wind turbine etc. but when I spin the shaft. Voltage is produced.

Bodine Electric Company DC Motor Control Model No. 855 and Motor 1/3 HP?? Broken
I got this off of craigslist and it worked when I got it. Light on the controller works intermittently. Not sure if the short is in the motor or what. The motor worked intermittently before it quit all together. I tried to troubleshoot it and ended up arcing some AC with a screwdriver on one of the internal switches. Kind of scary and since I'm obviously an electronics idiot ill let someone else fix it. I don't think the arc damaged anything. But as I said, I am an idiot. The motor will not come on as of now and I really don't know if the issue is the motor or the controller or the connection between them. Happy bidding. This is as is for parts, no returns.
