This is a Porter Cable model 7403 variable speed paint striper/remover. I used this on my house and it is a paint stripping monster. I have never had an easier time stripping paint. I am including 5 new and 1 almost new carbide disc no. 18027 36 grit, these are about $20 each! This machine is in excellent condition and complete. The cord is perfect but the cord restraint is cracked, did not effect anything as the cord is very heavy duty. I bought this paint remover 11 years ago for a project on a house I was restoring. It is in good condition. With some scratches and dust like you would expect on a tool used outside and stored in a work shop for a decade. There are a couple of chips in the cord, but no bare wires or anything to worry about. It comes with the disk on it, and seven other used disks that still have usable carbide on them. There is also a new aluminum and rubber backer plate. When you use the 7403 to remove old oil based paint, the paint will build up on the disk so you need to have several on hand. You will need to soak some of these disks in lacquer thinner over night to clean them up. I found that changing the disks frequently and soaking them in a coffee can with a couple inches of lacquer thinner worked good. No instructions or spanner wrench included. Cool Vintage Deco Era Industrial Luro Paint Remover Heats Up Like An Iron I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! You know that I don't like to plug in old items- but this one was in such amazing condition. I went ahead and plugged in(the curiosity overcame me) It's a vintage- I'm guessing early deco era tool called a Luro Paint Remover. Now, when I plugged it in, it immediately started heating up, just like an iron, and got hot like an iron too. Now, whether or not it removes paint.that's another story, as I did not try, so I do not know- I'm guessing you may know ... morebetter than me, but the tool heats up as it should, that's for sure. The metal end is either iron or steel and it has a very age darkened patina that is accented with light small spots of surface rust. The cloth cord is in excellent condition, actuall, the whole thing is in excellent condition, but I could not find any wear on the cord at all. I did find an original label still stuck to the cord as I'm showing in photo 17- the print is too small and faded for me to read. The wood handle I blieve is oak, and it has an age darkened patina- what the heck- this one looks as good as it heats up! The tool measures 12" long, 2 1/4" wide at the scraping end and weighs 1 lb. The scraping end could use a good cleaning- just general grime, not dried paint. It would make for a great display, addition to a tool collection, or present for a painter friend! Up for bid is an empty 1-quart tin that once held JC Penney Paint& Varnish Remover. Which I found at an estate sale. It's in pretty good shape, just normal age-related wear in the form of tiny tears and stains on the paper label; it was opened from the bottom, as it had started to rust through(see my photos, especially photo#6, for detail) It does, however, have some neat graphics on the paper label(skull and crossbones on both front and back) and its original metal cap; plus, it is a cone-top, which is always a cool detail. The tin measures about 8-5/8" tall. And 3-3/8" in diameter. It would look great displayed on a shelf in someone's shop or garage. Any questions, please ask. In great running condition Metabo paint scraper skimmer. high-quality machine. Dust collection is really nice to have. This machine has two side covers and one front cover that can be used to also scrape on the sides of items. The front cover is no longer attached to the machine although I have used duct tape to secure it(it does affect dust collection if it's not in place) Parts can be ordered though if need be. Comes with everything pictured. Manual also. Please read reviews and comments on forums about this machine it works great for some sidings maybe not so great for others. Used Black and Decker heat Gun# 9751 that has the original box. Instruction manual(safety rule#1, do not use as a blow dryer) and three accessories, normally sold separately. The accessories are two nozzles and one shield. I used this for removing paint and used the heat shield around windows. I never tried it to remove adhesives or varnish. Still works.

It is my understanding that the gentleman was a multiyear retired employee of Rockwell. Delta, Porter-Cable and finally Black& Decker which is why the tools carry such a wide variety of nameplates. While there are a few collector type tools many more are discontinued and hard to find tools and others are currently available models. None the less, all of the tools, unless stated in the individual description are operational.
