I'll begin by stating that I do not deal in antiques or furniture. My wife and I inherited this desk. After a couple of years sitting in our modern brick home. We decided we've no place or use for a desk of this size or style. This is a beautiful and massive piece of turn of the century American furniture. This desk being more than a century old. I would say that it is in good condition. It does show it age and have some brittle wooden parts. With exception of a few imperfections, some of which caused by myself. There are a few scratches from when I moved it to our home. By the way, I would suggest hiring a professional to move this thing to its next resting place. What I find mind boggling is that someone drilled holes to run wiring for modern electronics, I'm guessing. Vtg 1930s Birch Mahogany Wood Swivel adjustable Bankers Chair Crocker chair co
Item is in one piece. It does roll around on the floor well, adjust up and down, swivels in a complete circle and rocks back and forth. Needs little TLC on mechanism underneath and the wood needs to be refinished especially tended to on the seat bottom. The seat does have a split in the making left of center. This is a solid heavy chair. From the 1930s Crocker Chair company, with original sticker on the bottom of chair. The Original hardware is true to the chair, no previous restoration appears to have taken place.

Vintage Boling Bankers or Library Chair. This chair was in service in North Carolina and withstood the test of time. It is extremely sturdy and in good shape. There is some wear is on the arms and a small spot on the seat so look at the photos. There are scuffs on the legs as would be expected for a chair this age. This chair was made by the Boling Company of Siler City and I would guess it to be early to mid century. It still has the tag. It is a caramel color. I have another one that is the same style and color. Uses a 60 watt or smaller light bulb. It will take either old or energy-saving light bulbs. The brass on the top and the column seem solid. The base is made of thick brass sheet. 13.25" tall. 10.75" wide top. 7.25" wide base. 10" depth. The lamp is in GOOD USED CONDITION. The lamp does show wear. This is a unique cast iron gooseneck lamp. It says Made in Canada by Amagalmated Industries. The base is a solid cast iron and very heavy. The shade is also metal and very sturdy metal. This is an Im guessing late 18th early 19th century Sikes office chair. This chair is structurally and functionally perfectly sound. No cracks in the wood or non working metal parts. There are normal marks and wear on the wood that could be fixed or just oiled but I think the antique patina looks good on such an old chair. The leather seat and backrest have some cracks and such but are complete and besides the one pictured side of the backrest no rips or holes. Alexander McKay was an early miner and pioneer in the Alder Gulch. Montana, area. He was born on May 15, 1832, in Glasgow, Scotland, and immigrated to the United States in 1854. The McKays spent their first years in this country in the South. In the late 1850s they moved to the Denver area following mining opportunities. They then moved to Bannack, in what was to become Montana Territory, with the first gold rush in 1862. In July of 1863, with the gold discoveries in Alder Gulch, McKay moved from Bannack to Virginia City. The following year, he moved on to Bivens Gulch where he purchased numerous mining claims with his Alder Gulch earnings. His Biven's Gulch claim employed up ... moreto 15 men at its height. He invested his mining fortune in farm lands in the Madison Valley, settling his family in Virginia City. The family did well in Virginia City. Alexander McKay participated as a life long Republican in local politics and economic development. In 1889 Mr. and Mrs. McKay moved to the Old Sarge Hall grist mill, near Sheridan, Montana. They remained at that site until their deaths.
