On the metal under the meter it is marked"Line" and"Load" The meter does work! It does not spin as I saw on someone's auction who had a video- that was not realistic. I tested it with a 40 watt bulb and it takes several hours of it being on before you see that the meter mark has moved. A 40 watt bulb does not take much electricity! The entire piece- the meter mounted on the oak wood- measures 9-1/8" tall(to the top of the wood) 7-1/2" wide and 5-1/2" deep. A Unique Steampunk piece! Excellent condition! Rare 1950's Westinghouse Dept. Store Refrigerator Electric Test Meter
Up for bid is this rare test meter for the Westinghouse Refrigerator. This was used in a appliance store to actually show a prospective buyer that the Westinghouse unit would use less electricity than other companys refrigerators. While working just as well. The meter has a plug on the side of it which the fridge would plug into and would show how the meters dials would turn slower with their models. Meter itself looks in excellent condition while the metal case does show light rusting in the surface of the paint. The power cords on the meter would have to be replaced as they are cracking badly. Due to its age. Meter is very heavy at around 15 pounds without being boxed. Please do not pay for the unit until I know your address so I may invoice for the proper postage. I do not want to over charge or under charge.

1898 Westinghouse Electric Single Phase Watt Meter Watt Hour
1898 Westinghouse Electric Single Phase Watt Meter Watt Hour in"as found" condition. The glass in the front panel is original and wavy. The aluminum cover has a slight chip at the bottom edge. See photos. The mounting screws were not present so it is loose. The last date on the patent tag is Aug 9, 1898. The meter measures 6" in diameter by 6" high. The mechanism body appears to be painted cast iron. It has green electric windings inside and a rotating disc. The clockwork mechansim seems complete the and five indicators are in place. Took some light compressed air and got the disc to move for a short period of time and the 1000's readout moved several numbers. Mounted on an old piece of wood with a receptacle and cord attached. Very nice vintage Westinghouse Company Electric Meter. 5 amp, 60 Cycle, 100 volts, 2 wire, Type OA, Style 1613-63F. The meter is in good condition, however, the glass is cracked on the front of the meter. It measures approx. 6" wide, 8" high, and 5 1/2" thick. The meter is very heavy. Needs a good cleaning. Vintage/antique Westinghouse Type OA Watthour Meter. Serial 5264209- Single Phase 2-Wire, 100 Volts, 60 Cycles, 5 Amperes. The dials and plates are easy to read and very cool looking. Has some great raised lettering and a"5" painted on the side. Perfect for Steampunk decorating. Is heavy(appears to be black cast iron/metal) In nice vintage/used condition(untested) Some rust on metal. Glass is pretty nice- no cracks, just some scratches. Please see pictures for better description. Glass measures almost 6 1/2 diameter; whole system measures 9" tall x over 6" wide x about 5" depth- weighs almost 11 lbs by itself.
